So because they keep reporting my review on Facebook I'll be more than happy to share here! My dog has been here 2 times the first experience went well. So I brought her back, the second not so much. My dog was given kennel cough followed by bronchitis because of their cleanliness! We couldn't go anywhere for weeks because we didn't want to give it to some other pup. Also their guest bathroom tend to smell like someone's missed the toilet one to many time!!!! When trying to give them another try they told me my dog w... read more

I was rather excited to sign myself and my 4 month old puppy for training classes together. When I called the woman helping me asked my dogs breed, my puppy is a mutt she is a mastiff, lab, rottweiler, and pitt bull. As soon as I said "pitt bull" the lady cut me off and told me they do not accept that breed and wouldn't answer anymore of my questions. Then a manager called me and said the same thing and said she was "sorry its a insurance thing," with her very happy peppy voice. How does every other dog facility that trains ... read more

I normally don't post but this time I have to. We did so much research on where we could leave our two dogs, American Bulldog and American Staffordshire Terrier. We found this place and it seemed to have great reviews, very few negative reviews. As excited as we were, within a matter of 2 minutes we left there with a broken heart. We were greeted and it was friendly and wonderful. We met Dustin, and he asked us the breeds of our dogs (red flag). We told him and he said, they had recently updated their insurance policy and ... read more

If there were a negative rating I would give them this! I am disgusted. Took my puppy in for training . . . when I went to leave, I asked if they wanted me to leave his leash and collar . . . they replied no, we use our own. When I picked my puppy up from a 500 dollar training class, 100 dollars a day . . . he was walked out with a (Prong Collar)!!! A 6 week old, little French Bulldog puppy! I was so horrified, and lied to (omitting the truth is lying) I was speechless, and tried to keep from bursting into tears, as my... read more

11/08/2016 - 1st Visit to Folsom Dog Resort PROS: Friendly staff Nice front check-in appearance Close to Gold River CONS: Failure to provide services as agreed (late day bath, nail trim) Dog was exceptionally dirty and smelled of something rotten at pick-up Dog was prohibited from playing in water (due to bath in morning vs. evening) Dog was not exercised and likely kenneled most of day (supposed to be outside) Dog was stressed at time of pick-... read more

I was excited and looking forward to our "assessment" of my pup. I was open about my training goals, and am no novice. Pup is under one year and has had training classes, exercise, and competent, albeit not 'perfect' leadership. But we need help with some issues. The facility is very well maintained and laid out. I expected the trainer "assessing" us to walk with us, observe pup on leash, and have some direct interaction with her in order to "assess." Instead, after a very brief tour, we got locked in a room for a hard-sel... read more

Business response:

I sincerely apologize that we made you and your pup feel pressured and anxious during your training evaluation. That is certainly not our intention. Our goal is to evaluate the needs of our clients and their dogs by reviewing the questionnaire and observing the dog's behavior. We do offer a variety of training options and we want to make sure that our recommendations are in line with your goals and expectations for you and your pup. Please consider giving us another opportunity to work with you. I would be more than happy t... read more

Never again!!!!...this was our first and last experience boarding our dog here. Signed up for one night and a $9.00 nail trim package. Came the next day and was told sorry we could only cut the from paws but we are charging you 40.00 for a nail cut and grooming package "bath". Um this is not what i asked for nor agreed on but was told well sorry he already received the services..what was supposed to be well under 100.00 ended up being over 160.00?? Then when we get home i notice our dog is acting strange and is very lethargi... read more

Business response:

Thank you for taking our call and talking to us about the experience you had. We truly apologize for the misunderstanding regarding the grooming services that you scheduled for your dog. You should have been offered a refund for the bath and a discount on the nail trimming since we were not able to complete that service. Sometimes dogs do not cooperate when getting their nails trimmed and we must make the decision to stop in order to ensure the safety of your pet and our groomers. We do everything we can to prevent the spre... read more

I am very disappointed with the Folsom Dog Resort and Training Center. I should have read all the Yelp reviews before committing my 4 month French Bulldog, Mochi, in their care. When we picked her up on the 9th day, she was trembling, very timid and scared. She was very unlike her vivacious, rambunctious self. We finally discovered why. We found several bite marks that punctured through her skin. One was at the top of her head. The bite marks were in the healing process. When we picked her up the staff was overly sweet a... read more

Business response:

We attempted to contact you after receiving your email prior to this review and we also tried to contact you after your review was posted. We take the health and safety of all pets in our care very seriously. Our staff also pays close attention to the dogs participating in group play and we've observed that sometimes some dogs engage in "play biting" around the neck. We monitor this behavior closely, but sometimes it is not obvious when skin is punctured as a result of this behavior. When we do observe this, our staff i... read more

Took my dog here a couple of months ago! And it will for sure be the last! Dropping her off was the first thing that was very hard I didn't get to see where she was staying let alone walk her back as soon as I came in she was pretty much whisked away! Two days later when coming to pick her up she was not her normal self

Business response:

We apologize if our staff did not give you enough time to say goodbye to your dog at check in. Our goal is to check in our guests safely and efficiently as we've learned that most pet owners are short on time and need to quickly get on their way. For safety reasons, we can't allow pet owners to walk their dog into our lodging areas as there are often other dogs being checked in or out and we must ensure our guests' and our staff's safety. We sincerely hope that you give us another opportunity to serve you and your pet and ... read more
