I was excited and looking forward to our "assessment" of my pup. I was open about my training goals, and am no novice. Pup is under one year and has had training classes, exercise, and competent, albeit not 'perfect' leadership. But we need help with some issues. The facility is very well maintained and laid out. I expected the trainer "assessing" us to walk with us, observe pup on leash, and have some direct interaction with her in order to "assess." Instead, after a very brief tour, we got locked in a room for a hard-sel... read more
Never again!!!!...this was our first and last experience boarding our dog here. Signed up for one night and a $9.00 nail trim package. Came the next day and was told sorry we could only cut the from paws but we are charging you 40.00 for a nail cut and grooming package "bath". Um this is not what i asked for nor agreed on but was told well sorry he already received the services..what was supposed to be well under 100.00 ended up being over 160.00?? Then when we get home i notice our dog is acting strange and is very lethargi... read more
I am very disappointed with the Folsom Dog Resort and Training Center. I should have read all the Yelp reviews before committing my 4 month French Bulldog, Mochi, in their care. When we picked her up on the 9th day, she was trembling, very timid and scared. She was very unlike her vivacious, rambunctious self. We finally discovered why. We found several bite marks that punctured through her skin. One was at the top of her head. The bite marks were in the healing process. When we picked her up the staff was overly sweet a... read more
Took my dog here a couple of months ago! And it will for sure be the last! Dropping her off was the first thing that was very hard I didn't get to see where she was staying let alone walk her back as soon as I came in she was pretty much whisked away! Two days later when coming to pick her up she was not her normal self
This is the first review I have ever posted on yelp or the internet. I believe in supporting local businewsses and if I don't have a good experience I just don't go back. In this case, Folsom Dog Resort needs to be called out for their lack of community and sneaky sales tactics. I started taking my Lab to Folsom Dog Resort last year when he was 4 months old. I had no problems for months until I received a call that my dog had been bit. I was told that he was at fault because he was an overactive puppy. He attracted th... read more
I made a reservation for my dogs for the xmas holiday a month in advance via their website. I explained in my email I wouldn't be available via phone if they called as I had a busy holiday schedule but asked that they confirm my reservation and explained I could send over any vet records they needed. They insisted to talk to me on the phone and I called 3 times and left messages explaining that I would be hard to get on the phone right now. I finally got someone on the phone and all that happened is they aggressively tried ... read more
If you're interested in ala carte boarding whereby the base rate is comparable to all other first rate boarders BUT with a big gothca whereby if your dog is so much as let out for more than a potty break ( a few minutes) you will pay an additional $19 (per play time of about 20 minutes) or have a tuck in at bedtime (what the hec is a tuck in??) that's an additional $10 or how about a peanut butter snack an additional $10 or how about a belly rub of an additional $10. Base boarding rate of $39 quickly escalates to near $100 ... read more
I called to find boarding for my dog over the Thanksgiving holiday and at the beginning of the conversation there was room (although, "they were filling up fast"), but as soon as I said I didn't want the "happy dog package" at an extra $32 a day, there was no longer room! When I asked her if that had really changed in the 5 minutes since she started her sales upgrade, she said it had. I had a friend call back using a different name and this time agreeing to the upgrade, and what do you know? There was room! Can you say dis... read more
We took our dog here a few years ago to have him trained for us he had a few annoying habits like barking at the TV and other dogs he saw and running away. I was elated that they would train him off leash also. After leaving him in their care for several days we picked him up and immediately went on a trip to my daughters house. The first day he ran out the door and almost was hit by a car. Mind you this training was over $1000. cant remember the exact amount but it was very expensive. We were in a hurry when we picked... read more
