It seems they have more staff focused on flagging honest reviews on Facebook than they do caring for your dog! This is another reason why I love Yelp. I brought my dog to Folsom Dog Resort and quite simply, they did not take care of her. I was horrified when I picked her up smelling like she had been rolling around in poop even though she was still wet from a bath, what did she smell like before the bath? That's just not clean. Not to mention she broke out in a rash all over the body after staying here! I had a weird fee... read more

Took my puppy to Folsom Dog and Pet resort for daycare. He was attacked and bitten by another dog. This was done supposedly under appropriate supervision. Bruno has been to puppy socialization classes and a different Doggy day care that was amazing. I was told by Folsom Pet Resort that they have a 1:25 staff ratio(after the fact) My regret that I didn't ask prior to leaving him. Additionally my husband was told that our puppy had a "scratch ", which it was obvious to us that it was significant bite as soon as we arrived. His... read more

I have boarded my dog here about four or five times in the past and was always very pleased with the care, but today was a huge exception. They said they would bathe my pup right before I came to pick him up, and when I arrived, they said they ran out of time and weren't able to give him one. Although a little irritated, I understood and planned to bathe him once I got home instead. But as I turned to leave out the door with him, I noticed that he had abnormal/runny feces all over his backside. He smelled horrific, had an od... read more

First time taking my Australian Shepherd to this facility for boarding due to the overall positive reviews. I normally hire a dog caregiver to come to my home, but thought I'd try Folsom Dog Resort for 5 days to allow her some fun water play with other dogs. Booked by phone: It felt very "salesy" - meaning they offer as many add on's and extras that cost additional fees as they can during the phone call (I paid $40/day plus extra $20/day for 2 outside play times, but they offered many more). A 20 minute phone call to make a ... read more

So because they keep reporting my review on Facebook I'll be more than happy to share here! My dog has been here 2 times the first experience went well. So I brought her back, the second not so much. My dog was given kennel cough followed by bronchitis because of their cleanliness! We couldn't go anywhere for weeks because we didn't want to give it to some other pup. Also their guest bathroom tend to smell like someone's missed the toilet one to many time!!!! When trying to give them another try they told me my dog w... read more

I was rather excited to sign myself and my 4 month old puppy for training classes together. When I called the woman helping me asked my dogs breed, my puppy is a mutt she is a mastiff, lab, rottweiler, and pitt bull. As soon as I said "pitt bull" the lady cut me off and told me they do not accept that breed and wouldn't answer anymore of my questions. Then a manager called me and said the same thing and said she was "sorry its a insurance thing," with her very happy peppy voice. How does every other dog facility that trains ... read more

I normally don't post but this time I have to. We did so much research on where we could leave our two dogs, American Bulldog and American Staffordshire Terrier. We found this place and it seemed to have great reviews, very few negative reviews. As excited as we were, within a matter of 2 minutes we left there with a broken heart. We were greeted and it was friendly and wonderful. We met Dustin, and he asked us the breeds of our dogs (red flag). We told him and he said, they had recently updated their insurance policy and ... read more

If there were a negative rating I would give them this! I am disgusted. Took my puppy in for training . . . when I went to leave, I asked if they wanted me to leave his leash and collar . . . they replied no, we use our own. When I picked my puppy up from a 500 dollar training class, 100 dollars a day . . . he was walked out with a (Prong Collar)!!! A 6 week old, little French Bulldog puppy! I was so horrified, and lied to (omitting the truth is lying) I was speechless, and tried to keep from bursting into tears, as my... read more

11/08/2016 - 1st Visit to Folsom Dog Resort PROS: Friendly staff Nice front check-in appearance Close to Gold River CONS: Failure to provide services as agreed (late day bath, nail trim) Dog was exceptionally dirty and smelled of something rotten at pick-up Dog was prohibited from playing in water (due to bath in morning vs. evening) Dog was not exercised and likely kenneled most of day (supposed to be outside) Dog was stressed at time of pick-... read more
