These people almost killed my dog. We had our boxer stay for a week and asked for weight checks every 3 days and to let us know if she's losing too much. They told me "even though we normally do it every week, we will make an exception" I really appreciated that answer until I realized it was a lie. We picked her up after a week and our 52 pound boxer was turned into a 40 pound boxer. Over 10 pounds of weight loss and didn't even consider calling us!! This is insane. What's the point of contact info or an emergency c... read more

"Incredibly disappointed" doesn't begin to cover our experience. We made a reservation several weeks ago for our two dogs so that we could go on a much needed vacation. Two days before we leave, we get a call from them telling us our booking is being cancelled. They didn't have the staff they said. Perhaps if they paid more, they would have the staff - we know they can afford it, as their rates are astronomical. So now, I wonder where else do they cut corners. Safety? Sanitation? After several calls to other local boarding... read more

Good morning, James. My name is Duane Britton, and I'm the new General Manager here at Folsom Dog Resort. I want to begin by saying that I am very sorry that we let you and your family down. I am also sorry for our extremely delayed response. Would it be alright if I give you a call to hopefully make this up to you?

I have always taken my dogs to this facility, and over the past year, the service has severely declined, and their attention to my dog's wellbeing while at the facility was non existent; My dog seemed to always get Kennel Cough when boarding there and it was not addressed while he was boarding there. when I picked up my dog after his past 2 stays and it was very clear that he was not well. I had to take my dog to my vet for evaluation, and then he was placed on antibiotics both times. The reimbursement for the vet bills was... read more

Update: I had to bring my puppy to the emergency vet because he was vomiting and coughing so hard he was bringing up blood. To Folsom Dog Resort's credit they paid the vet bill and their GM, Brian, refunded the training in full. I'm still incredibly disappointed by this whole experience. I could never again recommend a place that (1) talked down to their clients and (2) made misstep after misstep with a dog in their care. It's incredibly disappointing because even with the full refund I worry other dogs will get sick because... read more

From MAY 27-30 This place is not good at all, I had boarded my two dogs for four days, when I had called on the first night to check up on them they sent me to hold and hung up on me. Called back again and apologized and said they would transfer me to the dog trainer who was in charge of watching them, and the didn't do a call back. On the second day I called again during the day, I received the same result as the first night. Third night my wife called and texted to see how they were and she also got the same answers and do... read more

Business response:

Hello Julio, I'm sorry that there was a delay in us getting back to you. As re-focus our staff on training we have reduced some services as we navigate the re-opening process. I'm sorry to hear that Jax and Leia contracted Kennel Cough. Please reach out to a manager and we will help with costs.

My female dog was bitten and they are denying it. Now my beautiful baby has a horrible infection on the wound. Please if anyone had experienced a situation similar to this one, contact me to ruizamele@gmail.com. We sent letters to them asking to tell us the truth to find the best treatment for it.... They are not responding

Business response:

My apologies as we have no record of any letters, voicemails, or inquiries on any pets. We are 100% transparent with ANY injury that happens on our watch. Please reach out to us directly so we can resolve this in a timely manner.

6 years later and your business still is hurting dogs lying and making them sick and just being plain scummy. You remember our German Shepherd you almost killed, he had pneumonia for a month at age 2 and almost died from it you guys didn't even call us and tell us he was sick when we were on vacation. When we came home he lost 38 pounds in a week and you guys did nothing to prevent it I will always give you one star anytime I get a chance to tell the world that a healthy beautiful German Shepherd, was inches away from death ... read more

Business response:

CR W., I'm truly apologetic on the experience both you and your German Shepard experienced six years ago. The entire facility is now under new ownership, we have new managers, new policies, new sanitization processes and are always looking at what we can improve. I would like to invite you back to see the new facility and all the changes that have occurred; I think you may be surprised. If you would like to talk further about our changes or perhaps schedule a free tour please reach out.

This is not the place for my puppy. 1) they will not allow you to see where the dogs play at dogcare during the day, 2) he comes home as if he has had nothing to drink and 3) one gal that brought him out was pulling and choking him. It is a "red flag" if a facility will not let you see where the dogs play and view them playing (per my Vet). I would like to ask the gal that was choking him on the way out, would you like a person that is 5 times bigger then you put a collar on you and then pull you to choking? We will not ... read more

Just picked up my 1 year old kitty. When I picked her up I asked how her play sessions went. I was told "she takes some time to warm up to your but once she does she loves to be petted!" which is not true. She loves to play but prefers not to be petted. She is a sweet kitty but not cuddly. When we got home from Folsom Dog Resort today she seemed to be upset. When I tried to scratch her cheeks, which she usually likes, she hissed at me and bit me which she has never, EVER done. I gave her some time tried again, she hissed at ... read more
