Extremely disappointed in my experience at this vet. Came in yesterday, and I was treated very rudely by the reception staff. Not pleased.

Do not take your beloved pets to Gotham Vet. Here is our most recent awful experience: Ten days ago we took our two perfectly healthy and happy dogs to Gotham Vet for their annual shots and check-ups. Both got sick right after the visit. One started limping the day he got his shots and hasn't recovered, yet. My other dog started vomiting 4 days after the visit. She has been having a severe diarrhea, urinating in the house and has not been right since. AVOID THIS VET AT ALL COSTS!

I honestly do not know how this place has a five-star rating. IT. IS. TERRIBLE. I took my dog in to get some tests done since I found some blood in his urine, and my visit turned into a complete nightmare. My dog saw Dr. Ward, who at first seemed kind but very rushed to get everything completed before their 6 p.m. closing time. While trying to get a urine sample, she hit a vessel and bruised him. She then proceeded to tell me that she could put a catheter in to get a urine sample since that would be the quickest solution. ... read more

They did a terrible misdiagnosis on my dog. I went to them based on the good reviews here. But ended up with loads of painkillers for my dog, ZERO diagnosis and bunch of tests. This is how it went....My dog suddenly wouldn't put one foot down, looked like she had hurt her paw somehow. The vet asked us to leave the dog with them for checkup. After some time Dr. Boyd called ( here comes the crazy part..) to say that she couldn't examine our dog properly so can't say what is really going on !!!!! I've been using this vet for 2 years, including for heartworm and flea meds. This spring I came to get a refill of their meds, and was informed that they stopped carrying the old heartworm meds (HeartGard Plus) and switched to a different brand (Interceptor). I was a little concerned because the old brand had been working very well for us, so I talked to Dr. Kwan about it. She said it was essentially the same medication and told me it would be fine. Gotham vet center are a bunch of incompetent scam artists. They don't remember you or your pet, their receptionist is rude and bad at his job. I've been a customer since 2012 and it has gotten so bad in the last year, I am done. You sit on hold for at least 10 minutes every time you call, only to be rushed off and not given important details about your pets care that might be life threatening. Before the terrible ordeal we went through I was already not thrilled with this Center. They are very expensive and there are seemingly an unending number of very young doctors and you always see someone new. Our dog developed a small cyst on her tail. Because she was worrying it and it got infected the vet determined that it should be removed. It was never suggested that this was a risky procedure and we agreed to allow it to go forward. Love Patricia Dominguez. Love Dr. Carbonell. Amazing. George (if that is your real name)? Are you listening? You lost your practice a customer (with major dental issues and ongoing bowel issues, and therefore some actual cash.) who needed help for a pet with an emergency. Your lack of interest in caring about my beloved pet, relaying my time-sensitive issue to a doctor (as you claimed that you would, but never did) put my cat (who was in terrible pain) in danger. I had to put my cat down recently and the vet made it very difficult. She suggested she may not be able to do the procedure for me and would I consider putting my 11-yr old cat in a shelter instead. This was an extremely difficult situation as it was since I loved my cat and I was very sad since she was sick. Having to convince the vet to put her down made it so much worse. I have had many animals in my life and never had to argue with a vet about when I know it's time for them to go.
