My dog has issues with his thyroid level and has to have his blood checked frequently. Today I took time off work because I was told no tech appointments are available on weekends - I guess it's techs who take blood. Once there, I asked to have his ears checked because I think they're infected. "Oh no, we can't do that. This is a tech appointment. Only a doctor can check his ears. You'll have to make another appointment. " And take more time off work, and pay another fee. Maybe I should have been told when I made the appoint... read more

Beware with dentistry procedures. Ask for costs before your appointment and make sure blood work if needed is added in the estimates. I was surprised by the cost ($1600) for our 6 month recheck from root canal therapy. I asked that they keep my dog while I spoke to the vet Dr. Horvat after the procedure so I could focus on his explanations but they did not. His review was my dog needed another root canal AND next time we should consider a cap on one of the back teeth which would take two visits with anesthesia! I left w... read more

I have been dealing with a bird mite infestation that has made myself and my dog the hosts. After multiple attempts at eradicating them via different medications from my previous vet, I decided on getting a second opinion from Dr. Brown here, but ended up spending nearly $800 over three visits in one month, and ultimately was told there was nothing else she could do for my dog. My education around bird mites over the past 9 months has led me to many experiences of vets and PCP's being unable to provide any kind of remedy for... read more

So sad that all they care about is your pocketbook. They do not review the animal - just set you up for the most expensive charges. I was in for my yearly checkup for both dogs - never asked me how many months of refills I needed - just gave me 12 month supplies for both dogs - ouch! Then recommended I come back again to finish their vaccines as the doctor didn't recommend having them administered all in one day - made sense, but I've never had that in 25 years of owning dogs. Then brought them back today - waiting outside (... read more

This is an atrocious vet and will fraudulently bill you for extra work you did not know was going to happen or consent to. In 2016, my cat had routine senior bloodwork. Over a year later, I was billed $143 extra for a test I never was quoted for and the results of which I never received. I disputed this, didn't hear back from them for a year, and now, 2 years after the alleged test, I finally received the records which showed my cat's blood work was entirely normal and didn't even require this extra test - AND that test usua... read more

Bonnie Brown owns and runs this center. She is a money monger. This vet lacks a conscience. Her eyes only light up when she sees $$. She lost an outstanding rehab therapist who worker there for years. Now she has a therapist who just received her certification lacking in both skill and personality. I had been to this center when Carly the outstanding therapist was there. I thought I would give the new crew a chance. I paid for a hydrotherapy package. My dog had 2 treatments both lacking in expert supervision. I did n... read more

I have heard really great reviews about this Vet and found a Groupon which would give my dog a full exam which was amazing. I called Gotham Vet the end of last week to see if the Groupon would be honored as my dog would be a new patient. I had to wait until Monday to be advised that the Groupon would be honored (I was not going to purchase a package if I could not use it). I just went on Groupon and the offer is expired. Gotham vet will not honor the discount even through I would not be in this situation should they had... read more

I really hate writing reviews like this, but I'm pretty frustrated, so here goes. In 2014, our then 1 year-old dog Moxie developed a growth on his shoulder. We had been going to Gotham and been pretty happy with everything to that point so we had an aspiration done that was inconclusive - so we then, under their recommendation, paid for a biopsy to be done under anesthesia. I received a phone call a week or so later and was told the biopsy showed "good news - normal muscle tissue." They postulated that perhaps it was a hemat... read more

First off--this is not my personal vet. I have a client who takes her dog here. Dog wasn't feeling well, acting funny, loopy so I brought her in AFTER the owner called and emailed everything that was going on. Despite all this and getting the confirmation to bring the dog in--they had us wait with the dog in my lap unable to stand and continued to dismiss me as I explained she needed IV fluids ASAP as she wasn't eating or drinking, and was definitely lethargic. One staff member was especially rude and incompetent. She contin... read more
