I love this printer I love this printer! It hooked up painlessly to my network and computers. It prints without fail, and does so quickly. The print quality is great and this model holds a ton of paper, which is awesome. I honestly can't say enough good things about this printer or the other Brother printers that I've owned.
Five Stars for Easy Set Up with a Mac This printer has restored some of my faith in Brother products. I had a Brother laser printer that I adored, but after more than ten years it finally gave out. Can't go wrong with Brother printers This is my fourth Brother laser printer. All these printers do their job well, rarely calling attention to themselves. It doesn't get much better than that. Paper jams are very rare and the duplex mechanism works well. Envelopes feed through well. Text is uniformly sharp and clear (I always use the highest quality setting). I don't have much experience with the fancy features of the software such as Air Print. But the basic software works flawlessly. I am suspicious of the word "Business"... read more
I love Brother products.. never let me down.. Brother printers have never let me down. To be honest, I have 300 dollar plus brother that does scanning, fax, email, duplex and prob can wash my car too, but sometimes its better just to have the black and white laser that gets the job done. Love ya Brother.
very good black and white printer, but compare the price with the next couple models up. I really like all of these little brother laser printers. This HLL5100DN is so easy to set up: you plug them into your router with a wired cord, and you search for a new printer in windows. Windows will automatically find the driver and you're good to go. Fast Network Printer With Reasonable Print Cost This is the 7th Brother printer that we have in our office. Previously I have used HP, Lexmark, Dell, Ricoh and Canon printers. In my, in my experience Brother are the most reliable and trouble free printers. After about 4 - 5 years, they start giving you error messages like replace parts, replace drum etc. That is usually the time to replace the printer. Low toner after printing 300 pages Printer itself is great but i don't feel good about paying $70 for a new toner so soon. I barely finished printing 300 pages of simple text.
This is not a wireless printer Everything I read led me to believe this is a wireless printer. It is not. After calling tech support, one finds that this printer requires an Ethernet cable. Unless I want the printer in the laundry room with the router, that just does not work.
Apparently, this is NOT a wireless printer although description and instructions suggest otherwise. Ordered and delivered by Amazon as promised. I presumed it was a wireless network printer. Instructions include procedure for connecting wireless. However, neither software nor printer input provided for connection to WLAN, despite clear instructions to do so.
