Wireless printing is a bit unreliable. Works great when it works.
Wouldn’t auto detect paper size correctly I bought this for it’s dual tray auto detect capability between letter and legal paper. After being on phone for 1 1/2 hours with customer service one day tray 2 still kept coming up as undefined, as in it wasn’t recognizing it. This and the seperate scanner I purchased were an investment for my loan signing job and i had to turn down a job last second due to it never being able to auto detect as it should. A work in progress Printing from iPhone very good EXCEPT I only seem to do either legal OR letter from it, not both. From USB it has a mind of it’s own, when it goes to sleep it stays asleep ( I lengthened sleep mood to 30 min before it goes under.) From a 140 page document it prints 3 lightening quick pages. Stops. Goes to sleep. I unplug it. Wait. Plug it back in .... it prints same over with a few more... tech support answered, got it going for about 30 pgs, they had to go, we hung up, printer stopped... went to sleep.
Worst Brother Printer I have ever owned! I have had numerous brother printers over the years and loved everyone of them until this one. It will work well for a while and then all of the sudden it's a nightmare. It forgets the paper sizes in the trays, tells me we are out of MP paper and when I put some in it tells me I have the wrong size. It's print quality is the lowest of any brother I have had (and I have had 5). I normally recommend Brother to everyone but that ends with this one.

Prints Extremely Dirty I bought this machine for volume printing of legal documents and have had nothing but issues with dirty pages. On two occasions, I've called to remedy this issue and all they attempt to do is upsell me rather than take responsibility for their faulty product. I can't use this for professional documents and have loss of confidence in Brother working with me to resolve this issue.
Don’t. Just don’t. Move along to a printer that works. There is probably a worse printer out there — I haven’t seen one, but I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt. If a flea sneezes within 100 miles, this thing jams. When it does work, it’s brief and the quality is pretty decent (the -only- reason this review is 2 stars and not 1). Heaven help you if your top tray runs out of paper — it will decide what size to use and you better hope you catch it before you waste 200 sheets of wrong-sized, expensive paper. Shop for something better! Printer jams easily. Overall you can find better so keep looking...
Paper jams often! Great print quality, However even using quality hammermill paper this printer jams often when switching between paper sizes.
