Printer jambs The printer prints very good. The only problem I have encountered is, it jambs a lot. This is very disappointing
Leaves ink specks on paper Leaves ink specks on paper. Brother Tech Support could not resolve it. Brother should have offered to replace the printer.
ZERO stars. WILL NEVER BUY FROM BROTHER AGAIN! Horrible, was delivered on Jan 15th... but I've only used it for 2 months now. The drum unit already went bad. It leaves roller marks on every page but the first page printed each time. It's not dirty, it's defeated. After searching their website I finally found brother's customer support phone number. total disappointment I bought this product brand new, but after i set it up, the printing quality was horrible. A lot of smears and black strings on the paper. i just do not know what to do with it. i use this printer for a while, but i cannot stand it any more. i am a busy mom, and i went to the order to see whether i can return. i hate this 30 days return policy. if i bought it from costco or walmart, i still can return. but i cannot return now. i do not like this Amazon shopping experience, especially the return policy.
Does not live up to its reputation After approximately 6000 pages, on long print runs (100+ pages) about 25% of the pages have toner speckles, that must be reprinted. This does not happen when only a few pages are printed, unfortunately, most of my print jobs are long runs. Tried cleaning drum, and changing cartridges with no improvement. Wish I had my 15 year old HP 2420 back. Also, I can only fill the optional paper tray half way, or every 15 pages the machine stops and has a phantom paper jam. Toner doesnt set and smudges all over the paper I've only had this product for 3 months and for the last month or so it has not been bonding the toner to the paper. From what I can tell from online research there is a malfunction in a heating mechanism that causes this issue. The fact that I starting having issues after only being 2 month old makes me pretty upset. On top of that I can't even print the way I wanted to which is why I bought this printer to begin with. A decent printer, save for a poor toner\drum unit design Likes: Print quality is good at its price range. Consumables are relatively inexpensive for a laser printer, and have good yields. (And also has a High Yield cartridge option) Can operate on wired and wireless networks. Wakes up from sleep every time. Can print on Avery index card sheets. Well known defect with this printer model Bought this printer on October 17th and about 4 days later, I noticed my printouts were dark near the top of printed pages. I had printed less than 20 pages at this point. After a quick search on the web and other ecommerce sites I realized this was an inherent flaw with this printer that prints excess toner speckles and blotches on pages.
