Constant paper jams and poor access. Total junk product. Constantly jams. Poorly designed access. Nearly impossible to remove jammed paper from inaccessible printing areas. I really detest this printer and regret buying it.
Wished I sticked to HP. I bought more than 50 printers and copiers for my company in for the past 18 years, this was crazy, I bought two of these brother printers, a month a a part, so the toner ran out of the first one (yellow), I tried to take the ink from the second printer (only printed 5 pages since we got it) and put it in the first, it won't take it. I purchased this printer and installed it (not a simple ... I purchased this printer and installed it (not a simple task as it is quite heavy). After a few test prints, I noticed that my Microsoft Publisher documents had a "ghost" image on the backside (this only happens when printing duplex) which is a real concern as the majority of my printing will be for this type of documents. This printer is garbage (and that's according to Brother tech support) This printer will not print properly. It doesn't matter the file type or source program. It does fine on text but photos, gradients and background colors are awful. In general, there's WAY too much magenta in everything. Browns are purple, Caucasian facial colors are off-the-charts flamingo pink or ruddy red. Most images come out "blown-out" with too much contrast too. Does not connect to Wifi or devices well, slow downloading when it does connect means slow printing This is the worst printer I have ever had over 30 years. It is supposed to connect to the wifi, but only worked when it was initially plugged in. After any idle time you have to unplug and plug in for it to be recognized, and now even that isn't working even though it says it is connected to the network. Forget inkjet this is so much better and doesn't cost a fortune Super simple to set up and use. Nice quality for the money. I will never use inkjet again!
FIRST TIME PURCHASING A COLOR LASER PRINTER AND IT IS GREAT The printer comes with four standard toner cartridges that they are practically giving to you for free. The Super High-Yield color cartridges cost $173.48 per cartridge. The Super High-Yield Black cartridge costs $82.48. A full set would set you back $602.92. Third party cartridges are hundreds of dollars cheaper, but the build quality of the cartridges is worse and the quality of the toner is not very good. Surprised at the poor quality! This printer prints so poorly! Even after calibration, the color is off, the text is not sharp, etc. Super disappointed. Wish I would've returned, instead we kept trying to make it work, to no avail. Writing this off as an expensive mistake and getting something different. Stay away from this printer unless you're just printing emails or memos or driving directions. Anything you want to look nice, won't.
So far so good for small business printing projects So far, so good. I've had the printer about a month and I use it for small-business printing projects, such as flyers and brochures. My last Brother Color Laser (MFC with scanner) was terrible from the beginning so perhaps that was one a lemon. Crossing my fingers this one lasts.
