Two Stars slowest printer I have ever owned
Only one network connection at a time and unreasonable EULA Just opened the box, unpacked it, and plugged it in. First things I noticed: it looks like you can use wireless or wired connections, but not both. I like wired for speed and wireless for easy access throughout the house. So, fail there. Great home office printer, until it died 14 months in. Great home office printer. Works well on Wi-Fi. Good print quality. Good speed. Duplex capable. Decent print speed. Very happy with it. UPDATE: Buy the extended service. 2 months after being out of warranty printer died. No power. Contacted Brother who put me in touch w repair service who basically said just get another printer. Home office. Lightly used. Never even ran out of starter toner before it died.
Please reconsider other options. This one is not for you. Please do not buy this. I did all my research. spent hours and this one showed in various as the one to get for a small home office. Alas - does not work wirelessly, very very glitchy. knocks out wireless connection mutliple times ad i have to restart my wireless for the printer to recognize it. No other device in my network has this issue. Again, i then took it wired, same issue, in this case, keeps saying printer not connected, and i have to disconnect and reconnect... read more
Print Color is off and way too dark Brother has not yet been able to correct it Prints fast and great for documents. However, the color printing is way off and way too dark. I have spoken with Brother and they could not solve the issue so it is being escalated. When I print anything in color it prints very dark. For example a royal blue color looks navy blue and a bright pink looks maroon. Hopefully they can fix it.
Let me know if anyone found a way to extend their toner use past Brother's idea of empty. Does its job so far about - 1500 copies but it does burn through toner even at 600 dpi and set to "toner saver". All 3 starter colors say empty but quality of last prints were no different from the the first print . NO OVER-RIDE SETTING FOR "TONER OUT" MESSAGE. Really a big useless limited printer $350 later, I can't copy a simple page A4 format. Only print from the computer. Can't scan too, I had to buy an external scanner. Really a big useless limited printer.
Not an upgrade, and not worth the price. Set-up is frustrating, support poor. Lots of connection issues, and not a supported printer for Asus AC3100. Still cannot get it to print from either a Chromebook or any of the ipads, despite claims of compatibility.
