We decided after nearly 30 years of using a wood-burning fireplace to replace it with an easy-to-use gas insert. We chose Jack Pixley Sweeps because they have provided chimney cleaning and repair services for us in the past and had outstanding customer reviews. The estimate was within our budget, and the explanation of what the insert would look like and how it would be installed was clear. Great, they arrived on time and immediately started to work. They were very through in telling us what we should do with some cracks in one of the chimney's. We also had the chimney caps replaced and one of the sizes needed to be ordered...he was back at the house two days later and replaced it.

Cleaning and inspection went well. I was sent an incomplete inspection report that they fixed when I asked them to. They took some weeks to get me an estimate for the additional work that needed to be done so I ended up using a different company for it.

Okay, except cracks in the flue liner were not explained as being caused by a limited chimney fire. Also provided misleading information on costs associated with flue liner replacement. Initially said it would be less cost than a gas insert, then said the opposite.

Our history with Mr. [Member Name Removed] began back in 2001 when we serviced his 1926 fireplace once. He scheduled our service this year to prepare for the sale of his home.
