The Pixley sweep arrived on time, after giving a 10-minute heads-up via phone, and went right to work. After completing his cleaning, he showed me the interior of the chimney with his video camera and display unit. The video revealed one small flaw in the mortar between two of the tiles lining the flue but he suggested this only need be re-examined in another year or 2 and was not a cause for immediate concern. Was told an inspection would be adequate. He looked in the chimney with a camera and left. No cleaning other than a quick vacuum of the hearth. Did not clean ashes out of burn area or do anything in the chimney other than look. Total time 30 to 45 minutes. $169.00 seems a little high for such a short visit. He was professional and seemed to know what he was doing so I will not make a final judgement on only one visit. He did make a point of not providing unnecessary service which did reduce the cost by $120.

The technician, Randy, was very professional. He took time to show me the inside of the cleaned chimney, did an inspection for any problems (found none), and helped solve a difficulty we were having with opening and closing the fireplace screen. Will definitely use Pixley in the future.

A few years ago, Jack Pixley Sweeps built a new liner and replaced it inside the chimney for my wood burning stove. It was a complicated and expensive process to replace the chimney liner, but worth every penny, as it made my wood stove safe to use again. To keep the lifetime warranty for that liner, I have Jack Pixley come out every year to clean and inspect the chimney.
