Overall, I gave the experience a 3 out of 5 for a few reasons. First, the food itself was okay at best. We ordered a poke bowl, truffle fries, steak and sushi and an extra order of a sushi roll. Other than the fries, everything was average at best. Second, our server was nice, but wasn’t informed that we had come there for a birthday (my wife’s birthday), despite the fact that host at the front acknowledge the birthday. A great touch offering sparkling wine while we checked in for our reservation. Our wait staff was excellent, working as a team, Christina was excellent with recommendations. We had the sea bass and yellowfin salad. Both were excellent, but next time it will be sea bass for two. Highly recommended.

Always enjoy a meal at Joey Newport Beach. Our waiter Matthew was excellent and made our Birthday celebration very special! Matthew went above and beyond to ensure our dinner experience was perfect!
