I was on vacation in Southern California, when I fell and fractured my ankle. After recovering from surgery, I had to stay in the area for 2 weeks before I could fly home. I stayed at LA Paloma for 9 days, and I have to say the staff was amazing. From wonderful nurses, CNAs, PTs, OTs, to the kitchen staff, office staff, and house keeping I was treated with professional care and genuine kindness. I am about at the end of a long stay at La Paloma. I have had experiences in other rehab facilities where I was not at all happy La Paloma is a happy surprise! The care is all it should be - prompt, personable and professional. The CNA"s, beginning with Le and everyone else are the absolute best. They have the hardest job and do it with the most caring spirit and they are where healing begins! My husband was admitted to La Paloma for rehabilitation for almost a month, and I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the staff--the nurses, CNAs, and the physical therapy department--for their care and dedication. We were especially impressed and deeply appreciative of Saray, the front desk receptionist. She was always so welcoming and supportive to our family, showing genuine care and professionalism. No one wants to go to a skilled nursing facility, but after a stint in the hospital, my mom came to La Paloma to get strong enough to get home. I was with her for several hours each day for two weeks, so my review is first hand. The staff here is kind, attentive, and loving. They knew mom's weaknesses and goals and worked to hard to make sure she met them. They communicated clearly and were always checking in to see that her needs were met. This is an old facility and needs serious remodeling. I am curios as to how La Paloma has such a high rating. My rating could have easily been a 2 star, except for the assistance I received from Jennifer C., the nutritionist, my "night shift drug dealers" and specifically the excellent OT and PT specialists that worked with me every day of the 18 days I spent there. A 5 star facility close to TriCity Hospital and most stores including access to the freeway. We cannot expect facilities like this to be at a hospital's level; that is like comparing apples to watermelons. Friendly service, food is dependent on what you are used, staff are great! Dana the therapist is an excellent worker. She goes above and beyond her duty. Adriana is my physical therapist. She is excellent at her job, and she almost has me walking again.
