If I could give them no stars I would. The worst experience I have had in health care. My Dad was admitted and discharged within a 48 hour period of time because he didn't meet the "quantifications" meaning he could walk and talk. My dad had a serious ischemic stroke and can't recognize a remote from a cell phone. He was deemed independent from this facility but can't remember to take medications and or feed himself. We put him him in this facility because we talked with admissions and said he was a perfect candidate for th... read more

My name is David Barrett. I was sent to La Paloma from Tri City Hospital to recuperate from a surgery. But I left with a colony of SCABIES mite that have infected my body and caused me intense discomfort.

Went in to visit my Uncle who was there for rehabilitation (he's 85 years old) and he was laying in his bed soaked in urine which indicates he had been wet for quite some time as he had a diaper on. His bottom was red. Also, I had requested he be shaved three days prior and he had not. I instructed them I would do his laundry and they lost two pairs of his pants instead of putting them in his laundry bin and we almost lost his glasses when the aid picked up his lunch tray without even noticing he had his glasses on it. C... read more

The worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. My daughter's Girl Scout troop was looking for an Assisted Living Facility to visit and donate some Girl Scout cookies to. I emailed La Paloma and received a nice email back from Ashli saying they'd welcome a troop visit but I would have to call "Claire" to arrange it. I called Claire and left a message about visiting the facility but after a couple days I never heard back so I went to La Paloma to talk to someone in person. I walked into the front entrance and ... read more

I wish I could give zero stars. This was my first experience with a skilled nursing home for my 87 year old dad and i was shocked beyond belief. There was no one to greet us or give us an overview on the process of rehab. It took 2 hours of asking for a nurse before anyone came to talk to us. They got his meds mixed up. He was there for PT, but they put him in the ward for long term residents that had dimentia and other problems. People in the hallway in wheelchairs were asking for help to go to the bathroom. Nurses and ... read more

my mom was sent here from try-city to wait for surgery on her broken ankle. Since i had to go to work and she would be alone. i paid with the credit card and a couple days later found they were charging more hundreds of dollars on the card and so i complained. that night they called at 2am and said mom was unruly and they wanted permission to give her a sedative. i decided to go their and found her in a wheelchair parked up under a countertop with the brakes locked. This was abuse. i took her back to bed and she was tir... read more

Its with great disbelief and sadness that I write this review. My mom had been sick with Nausea/ Vomiting at Tri City and when she had recovered was sent to La Paloma for OT/PT. After 3 days at La Paloma her symptoms started all over again. After 2 days of vomiting and seeing a weak mom who's Blood Sugar was drastically dropping as well as her Blood pressure and they still didn't do anything about it. It was as if it was just another patient. My mom was deteriorating in front of my eyes and they were doing nothing!! I finall... read more

The place is outdated, dark, and smells sour at times. Some of the staff was helpful and informed, the other half kind of rude, and often on their phones with personal things. If I asked a question I would get an "I don't know" but no offer to help. I asked if they were on break and they said no. Rooms were not always cleaned properly and it was very disappointing. The food was atrocious and often sugar learned..breakfast for instance was cereal, chocolate milk, Orange or cranberry juice and a muffin. Seriously? Seniors ne... read more

My 79 year-old mom is in La Paloma right now (recovering from knee replacement surgery) and CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUT! The facility is old and in need of repair (mom's T.V. stopped working several times). However, the worst aspect of this Skilled Nursing Facility is that few of the caregivers are "skilled". They have poor communication with one another and with patients. The first day she was there was a nightmare! Mom felt a loss of dignity within the first few hours of arriving as she had an accident because nurses didn't get... read more
