I am a 5 plus year member at Madison reed San Francisco. I moved to Seattle last week and my stylist had suggested coming to the Kirkland location. This place is not near me but I still wanted to give it a try. I spent about $25 in an Uber during work hours since it was near Redmond. They don't have a Seattle location. My appointment was at 12:30, I reached at 12:41. I was pregnant so I haven't dye my hair for 6 months. I had lots of white hair all around my roots.The lady, despite my efforts to explain, dis such a poor job of painting my roots. She just did one layer of color all around at the same time. My roots look much lighter than ends. This time I was really unhappy:((((

So I have been here 3 times and left unhappy with my results each time. I believe in giving people chances and clearly that's my downfall! Time and money wasted. The staff is so sweet but idk if it's their products that are weak, but they just couldn't achieve the blonde balayage I wanted no matter what they did. Won't be coming back again, that's for sure.

I live in San Francisco but have been taking care of my mom at the end of her life in Bellevue and made an appointment at the Kirkland color bar in preparation for the funeral. I notified via the automated phone line that I was running late and arrived 10 minutes late. The process for making an appointment or trying to contact the Kirkland salon is severely lacking. I made an appointment 4 weeks ago knowing I had a trip coming up. I searched my email for the confirmation - there was not one - so I called a 425 number - which goes to a CALL CENTER - not their location. I asked for the time of my appointment and she claimed I don't have 1, then blamed me for not doing it right. Really? This was my first time going somewhere different for ash blonde balayage for many years. I told the girl i wanted ash blonde balayage/highlights and when it wasn't until I was done that she said she didn't have the right toner in stock to make me as ash as i wanted. They gave me some product and said i could come in to get retoned (this is why i gave 2 stars and not 1). However, it did nothing. I subscribed to MR home color delivery and received 2-3 kits. I was not happy with the initial color so was sent a different color for free. Neither color was really a match. Both came out really really dark. So I figured I would try their Color Bar and let the Color Experts do their thing and hopefully finally get the color right. Has customer service disappeard?! I am in my 70's, & have always had my hair combed out after a beauty service at a salon-- not so at the 'trendy' Madison Reed salon in Totem Lake Mall, Kirkland, WA. I was handed a bristly brush & told to do it myself. I not only dislike 'bristly' hair brushes, but I don't believe I got the percentage off my product or other service add-on s. Made 2 appointments for my 16-year olds to get highlights only to find out that they don't "work on children's hair". What? I get maybe not 12 or under but 16 year olds and up are not children. Super frustrating as making the appointments on-line is so time consuming and their policy is not stated up front on their site. Their customer service was terrible and couldn't find my reservation to cancel it, even though they state very clearly they'll charge you for a no show.
