Possibly the best experience I have ever had since I started exercising a year ago. Tried a couple of different gyms before hand and I could immediately tell that most gyms are a business first and fitness center second. With that being said Mountainside actually feels like a gym first. Stuff like the protein shake counter is super convenient, giving me more time in my already short day. I love this gym, I've been coming here for about a year. it has equipment and space to facilitate every kind of workout, and the staff is excellent. they're some of the nicest people I've ever been around in my life!
A very clean and very friendly environment. The gym staff was extremely helpful and courteous when helping to get my membership. Couldn't be happier with my choice in a gym.
What an awesome health club! Has a very large amount of free weights and machines. Cardio that is always open. The staff here is very welcoming and helpful when it comes to getting assistance with anything
wonderful mountainside location with great equipment. towel service is wonderful along with the staff. blake and Jack at the front were very swift with helping me set up my membership. Lane the training manager was very helpful as well!
Amazing staff! I have gone to several of the mountainside locations and this one stands out. Everyone is always supportive and helpful. The classes are amazing and the teachers really took extra time
The Mountainside on Carefree has the best group fitness instructors! Kirsten in particular. She teaches Muscle there and she's very welcoming, engaging and is great on showing ideal form and providing alternative ways of doing the sets. If you're looking for a great place to work out, that has friendly and inviting staff and nice members, look no more! : )
I signed up for a 1-month trial membership (or so I was told) in April of 25 while in Scottsdale for the birth of my son. I lived in Flagstaff. I notified Mountainside in person on April 8th that I was canceling and going back to Flagstaff. I have now moved to Santa Fe as of Jan 2026. Mountainside has charged my card for over a year and a half, and now it's in collections because I blocked the card, yet they still keep billing me! I have made numerous calls, sent several emails, been promised callbacks, and been hung up on b... read more
The media apps on the equipment haven't worked for over a month. No TV stations ESPN etc. same with the monitors in the workout room. several machines not working. Staff seems oblivious.
