I was transferred to Trustpoint from another hospital (they were at capacity), however I did not make this choice. I was sent in for depression. Initially, I was placed into a medical ward. Single room, private bathroom, tv, hospital bed, etc. The nurses were very kind and checked in on my very well. Then I was told that it was a mistake and I would be transferred to another ward. Well, if the shared room, velcro-bathroom door, rarely cleaned linens (don't get me started on clothes, those vanished constantly), inability to k... read more
my brother has been at trustpoint 3 months recuperating from a major stroke. he has received excellent care from all of his therapist as well as his nurses. his case worker also has been a tremendous help in assisting in his release and transfer to another out of state facility to be nearer his relatives. i cannot say enough good things about this faciliity. they get a 5 start vote from me!
EVERYTHING you read that came from mental health patient is true. So very true. I wont repeat what has already been said but know, once you check in, you dont leave til they tell you that you can. If you ask, you will be involuntarily committed for no reason other than you want to leave. Even if you committed yourself voluntarily. And you'll see a doctor for maybe 10min...I had no medication change, ZERO therapy, ZERO help of any kind. Find another hospital to go to. This one is open just for taking your money with no car... read more
This place is horrible!! My mother has fallen 2 times since Sunday, they won't give her her clothes. It's dirty And my mom has severe bruising on her arm etc don't send anyone here!
As a former employee I am appalled at the "cliques" within management. Having been a nurse for a long time without psych experience outside of school many years prior, I was open and willing to learn. Floor staff, Doctors and immediate supervisors were very helpful with their tidbits and help. However office management, floor staff and personnel that have been there since opening are possessive and very critical.
This "hospital" is a joke. I had never been in the hospital for depression before and because of this experience, I will forever fear being "locked up" in a place like this. If you require medication, you will not be given it in a timely manner. I waited over 16 hours for TYLENOL and even longer for my prescribed medication that I take daily. There are 3 nurses for 30+ patients on the second floor unit. There is no individual treatment or therapy. Everything is done in groups. You are told you'll be speaking to a social work... read more
Worst experience ever. A family member with depression and anxiety was admitted. First admitted to their acute unit with substance abusers who were actively psychotic, severe psychiatric patients who were also actively psychotic into a very chaotic, loud and poorly supervised unit. 30 patients with only 3 nurses. She was on this unit for over 16 hours without ANY medication. Keep in mind this individual had been receiving anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications on a daily basis. Did not see a doctor or other practition... read more
I don't know how ANYONE would give this place anything over 1 star! I would give it a ZERO if I could. They OVER MEDICATE, by at least 900mg, and, they put DNR bracelets on patients that don't need or want them. Then, they blame the patient for having the bracelet on, saying they switch bracelets all the time. They must think people are idiots, because the bracelet was on tight, and would not fit over my dad's hand. They don't change the patients clothes for several days, and when they do change their clothes, they put someon... read more
My father was a patient at this facility. After only a few days he became severely dehydrated and had to be sent to the hospital. Apparently this is a known issue as they have signs reminding staff to keep patients hydrated. Additionally we were told they have a hydration program in place to make sure patients are given fluids every two hours. This makes me wonder where the breakdown occurred. During another visit my father had a Do Not Resuscitate band on his wrist against both his wishes and his doctor's directive. When we... read more
