About this business

About Us In 1995, Sheri Fastenrath, DVM identified the need for an emergent care facility for owners and their pets in the Huntsville area. Unfortunately, there were not many overnight emergency options for medical treatment in the surrounding area. In response to that need, Dr. Fastenrath and other local veterinarians formed a committee to lay the plans for what would become the Animal Emergency Clinic of N AL. The response from the community was so overwhelming that many of the area veterinarians also came aboard ... read more

Took my dog here two nights ago. Absolute worst experience. I’d rather drive 2-6 hours to go somewhere else before taking him back here.

The staff was nice but the Dr sucked. She didn’t even look at my dog. She took my info and then handed me a $700-$1000 estimate. She never laced a hand on my dog and that was her plan. Won’t go back. Wouldn’t recommend it. $90 to get my dog weighed. Oh he’s fine btw. Seems he didn’t need Dr Tucker’s service after all. Bad experience. Won’t go back.

So far, we are very grateful for the service being provided here, specially on a busy holiday weekend when we arrived with our little 8wk old puppy that was almost completely unresponsive..... he had gotten major motion sickness on our way home from getting him. Staff was very kind and considerate even with the rush of other pets that came in just minutes after ours! The cost is high for sure, but I agree with one other post that sums this up, it’s an “Emergency Room Visit”..... and costs to operate as such are not cheap, ... read more

Manager and techs were very nice. Doc was nice. HOWEVER, I don’t think they gave good quality of care. I will not be bring any of my animals back.

Every day and night I have nightmares. Putting my best friend in the world down should not have been this way. I was never asked about sedation. They just shot the chemical. He was terrified and so was I. I held him tight and he was still alive. It was his last memory. I let this happen to him thanks to this place. I hate this place and I'm never coming back.
