Heads up - We brought our bulldog in to be seen and waited an hour before being put in an exam room where we sat for another hour. She was weighed and her temp was taken. Vet said she thought it was arthritis and would be back with a "plan". An hour later her assistant walked in and said "It's going to be $1200". When I asked "what for" she showed me the "plan" which included hospital stay overnight, fluids, meds, etc. We walked out, but not before being charge $90 for the visit. We took our 14 year old dog in yesterday because she was vomiting blood. She is very skinny, she always had been, we have tried every diet under the sun for her. That is just how she is. She does eat! They made my husband feel like we were terrible pet parents, like we don't feed her. They don't know her history or that I am a RVT! They refused to give her any fluids because we could not afford $1500 to keep her overnight for IV fluids and monitoring. They gave her two shots that knocked her out! Terrible place. Went after my dog was hit by a car and ended up walking out after an hour and headed to Decatur. The staff was rude and unresponsive.
I am very thankful to have had my dog Karma treated by Dr. Carlo and the wonderful techs after an unexpected trauma she had sustained. The care she received was top notch and professional. I would not hesitate to come here again if needed. I only wish it was closer.
Our sweet blue tick pup got hit by a truck a couple of days ago and our vet was already closed. We didn't know if there was trauma or not (thankfully there wasn't, a few fractures but he should heal in time) so after calling our vet upon their recommendation, we rushed him to the Emergency Clinic. He had xrays taken and was given some pain meds and nausea medicine and had to stay the night.
