Dr. Maggie is supposedly a more holistic leaning Vet. If she was, wouldn't she advise against a biopsy? Biopsies when popped spread the toxic/cancer cells inside the sack to other organs & body parts. She definitely knows this, but lied to my face when I asked her if it would spread the cancer --Then charged over $400 for it. The audacity. Dr Henson is a charlatan he'll sell you anything and everything he can. He'll also ask you what you do for a living to try and gauge income. He gave my two dogs shots I specifically told him not to and then attempted to charge me which I didn't pay. Told my friend his cat needed eye surgery for thousands of dollars. He went to another vet at another practice that vet vehemently disputed the diagnoses prescribed eye drops which solved the problem. Terrible place just disgusting
My dog was a patient at this practice for over three years. Recently, he had to be rushed to animal emergency in the middle of the night where he had surgery, followed by serious complications and he remained in critical condition for three weeks. During that time I spoke with Dr. Hensen at Paumanok, who said he would be happy to discuss any procedures the emergency doctors suggested or answer any questions I might have. !!!!DO NOT GO THERE!!!! Long review but there are so many WOW I cant believe he said that or did that moments. Summary- Dr. Dave overmedicated my cat, had to revive her, and on top of that charged me for all the things he needed to do to fix his mistake. We brought our elderly cat to Paumanok for an appointment. Our cat was approx. 20 years old and having difficultly breathing. We knew there was likely not going to be many options for him but just wanted him to be comfortable. Dr. David Hensen comes into the room and the first thing he says is ' Oh I thought I was seeing a dog'. No introduction. This place should be the last place you take your pets please! My dog had a mass on his shoulder area that ended up being cancer, we had the mass removed here and they assured us that he would need no further treatment and the cancer was not serious or life threatening and it was removed completely during surgery. We took our dog home and had been back to their office two separate times after this for physicals and to make sure that he was still cancer free and in good health. I felt so uncomfortable with Dr. Henry.. he was all over the place just wanted me to get in and out and I felt like a price tag to him. $300 later. For a first time visit I was very disappointed and will never go back
I have to leave this review as a reminder to not book with Dr. David Hansen. First and foremost, I am not sure how he is still a licensed vet. He should not be allowed to practice. I brought my dog in for a case of diarrhea (my dog had a severe case to where he had mucus and liquid stool). The doctor gave my dog a rectal exam without any lubrication and sent us on our way, with medication so he could charge us extra. All these reviews about Dr. Dave being horrible are 100% correct. I feel horrible about myself even taking my dog here. Please read these before you go. Dr. Dave does not care about your animal at all. Literally had 2 assistants pin my dog down to give him his physical. I told him he'd be fine and not trying to get away if he didn't have two people on top of him, he completely disregarded. This was the worst vet experience I've had in my life. DO NOT go here.
