So disappointed with the boarding service. Brought my Olde English Bulldog in to stay for 4 days and originally chose a normal kennel and was told he would get out a few times a day to potty and clean his kennel and signed up for some additional play time. Staff walked him back to his kennel and my husband said our dog seemed happy and followed the staff with no problem. About 30 minutes later, we get a call that they are having to move him to the back and placed in a double kennel because he was acting timid and aggressive.... read more

Business response:

Hi Heather, we appreciate you voicing your concerns, and we were glad to be able to connect with you over the phone. Our Hospital takes great care to provide the safest, and most comfortable boarding environment for all of our patients regardless of breed, appearance, or species. We welcome all shapes and sizes, and do our very best to build a trusting relationship with each and every one. Unfortunately, despite our efforts some pets can still become anxious, and that anxiety can manifest in many different ways. As per our d... read more

When a veterinarian doesn't know the difference between a Siamese mixed cat and a domestic shorthair cat, you know that you are in trouble. Pet Medical Center & Spa didn't give me much hope. I was a hospital corpsman (medic) in the Navy, and we weren't trained to communicate in Code or numerology or give a knowing look to a visible camera that the spa has in the exam room. Does anybody know what a BUTT Scratcher is because the only language that I know how to speak is Formal English. Butt Scratcher must be in the dictionary ... read more

Frustrated with my experience today- made an appt a week ago for my cat to be groomed. They set the expectation that she would need to be examed before they could sedate her for grooming. I understood. I brought her in and they explained again. When I called to ask a question (15 mins after dropping her off) they told me she would not be able to be groomed today. They stated the doctor wasn't able to see her until after noon due to emergency surgeries. I understand that things happen but I made this appt a week ago for her t... read more

Business response:

Taylor, Pet Medical Center and Spa's position on sedation and anesthesia for our patients is not taken lightly. We require, as it is by California Law, to have a Doctor patient relationship prior to any medical treatment. We explained multiple times that your pet will need an exam and most likely bloodwork prior to any sort of sedation or anesthesia and that there was no guarantee that the exam and sedation would happen on the same day. We apologize if your expectations were different, but we did our best to explain this. It... read more

I have used PMC for the last 3 years for boarding. I found the the facility to be clean and staff very nice. For the last 2 years, I started using their medical center also. I became very disheartened with this facility for several reasons. I have two small dogs. I was informed that they both needed the flu shot. With that would require an exam (even though they have had prior exams), and then would require a booster shot, and again, another exam was required (3 weeks later). Total for 2 flu shots was $320.00. I was ... read more

Thank you so much for your feedback, our team values all feedback! We understand that implementing our hospital requirements for the bivalent canine influenza vaccine for boarding, grooming and doggie daycare was not going to be an easy one for everyone to comply with and we apologize for the inconvenience. However, we wanted to get out in front of the canine flu as it made it's way toward Fresno. As a veterinary hospital, we felt that this was the best course of action to minimize risk to all of the patients in our care. ... read more

Don't take ur pet here if they're sick. They will guilt u so bad into getting blood work and X-rays stead of working with u on what's best. It's clean and friendly somewhat (depends on who asks u up front) but that's it. Save ur self money and find another vet. They're too pushy when it comes to blood work and X-rays

Business response:

Thank you so much for your feedback. I am sorry that your visit did not exceed your expectations as our entire team takes great pride in providing excellent care to our patients and pet parents. After medical examination by our doctors, a treatment plan is presented to the client. Treatment plans vary depending upon what is going on with the pet. The doctor has a legal and ethical obligation to provide you with a treatment plan they feel is the most medically appropriate for the pet’s symptoms/condition- this is what is bes... read more

Update: They called that Monday and they refunded the late fees and have been better since. Trying a work day instead on my vacation. Won't use Saturday for grooming, but the weekdays seem good, the lady who does our dogs is good and the dogs seem happy. We have have been going here for a while now for grooming and today they were very rude and charged a late fee. They didn't say they were closing when they called at 1230 to say our pets were ready and we have picked them up after 1 before. My fiancé was going to come from... read more

Business response:

Thank you for your feedback. I apologize that you were not aware of our Saturday hours, we are open 9am-1pm. We will gladly refund you back your late fee as a courtesy for this visit. Any pet that is not picked up by 1 pm would have had to be boarded at our facility until Monday which is why they were feverishly trying to get ahold of you. Thanks again for your feedback and we will be mindful on Saturdays to remind clients of our 1pm closing time.

Just picked up my mom's dog after a 3 day stay. They lost her toys, her bed was ruined by another dog, she smells like she has been swimming in urine and they charged us every day for "play time" which lasted a total of 15 minutes. Further, my mom lost her deposit because my mom came to pick her up early even after my mom pointing out all of the issues listed above. They over-treated her for fleas rather than pulling her chart and looking (it WAS our vet as well). EXTREMELY disappointed and concerned about the care my mom's ... read more

Business response:

Thank you for your feedback. We have spoken with the actual pet's owner regarding this situation. Pets do not share their personal beds with others. However, they do get laundered with other pets' belongings in our washer and dryer. Most of the issues that you mention can be answered on our website by clicking on Boarding Services www.petmedcenterfresno.com or on the boarding paperwork that each client signs at check-in (also on the website under New Client Paperwork). Daycare is offered 4 hours per day M-F and Spa Care is a... read more

I honestly do like this place. My dog stays here often when I go out of town and gets all of his grooming done here. However, my experience last weekend really left me upset. My dog always gets groomed on his last day being boarded. He gets his grooming and bath and is not to play in doggy day care after so he comes home all nice and clean. I spoke with the groomer the morning of and she said she was bathing him and would make sure that he did not play with other dogs. She called me once he was done with his bath and we pick... read more

I have taken my dog there for 4 years and except for a concern over unnecessary expensive tests I have been satisfied with the staff and especially the cleanliness of the office. Recently that changed when my dog needed over $2000 in dental surgery and I was told her teeth should have been cleaned annually. My dog gets annual (and expensive) checkups there which includes having her teeth checked and I brush her teeth every day. I wrongly assumed that if her teeth were ready to be cleaned, they would have told me. She had j... read more
