I thought this would be a good product by Polaris 2011 - Gave it one star. I thought this would be a good product by Polaris. If you are working out in the yard and notice it slowing down, you are right there to empty the net. I hooked it up, left for about two or three hours and when I returned, the net had come off. Needless the say, the few leaves it had picked up were floating around again. Not good for picking up acorns, etc.2015 - Have to change it to five stars. Glorified net This unit is basically a glorified skimmer.. it doesn't vacuum anything. It attaches to the output of your pool filter and uses the water as jets to move around the unit that floats on the top of the water and also has jets on the skimmer at the bottom. I paid about $147 for this including shipping, and I would value it at about $75 since it doesn't actually vacuum anything.That being said, this unit DOES a very good job! This works like a wonder! IMPORTANT: Lots of 1 star reviews because they said the "bag was missing" - that is not a fair review of the product itself. This would be a 4.5-5 star product without all those reviews.With that said...This thing works GREAT! disappointed! I have used a polaris 65 for 10 years and it does a good job! I bought this one and received it yesterday. Now I am reading reviews and see that many orders did not have the all-purpose bag. The one I received did not have the bag either! Looking on the website I only see an option to return the product for a refund or exchange. A lot to go through for a missing bag. So I am disappointed!
Not the Same as Vacuuming the Pool I bought this because of the good reviews it has been getting, and I think this is a pretty good product.Positives:+Easy to install. Polaris good / Amazon bad This order was to replace a broken five year old Polaris - another example of it being cheaper to purchase a new one than repair the old one. My problem is with the decline in service by Amazon itself. If you aren't a Prime customer, it seems to be taking longer for Amazon to move the product out. POLARUS 65 Polarus covers most of the pool bottom but seems to need a little help by tying off the long length hose closer to the corner where help is needed to get at the debis it would normaly not pick up.UPDATE: JUNE 2013 Got rid of it after just two seasons. I really don't think it ever covered my whole 15 x 30 oval without having me to help it. At the end of the first summer season it was not making alternate random turns. It WORKS! I was a LONG time user of the Zodiac Zippy pool cleaner. They took it off the market! I was faced with finding a comparable product that did as good as my Zippy. Well, I took a chance on the Polaris 65. The ease of installation was very nice. I was very much the skeptic, but my pool has stayed clean. Done with Manual Pool Cleaners! We've had our above ground 24' round pool for going-on 3 summers now. We've used the vacuum attached to a pole until now. When my husband left on deployment he left detailed instructions on how to hook up the manual vacuum and it worked.
