My dad has been at Poway Healthcare Center twice after two different falls. At first he was scared and didn't want to stay because of things he'd heard about nursing homes. But within minutes, a nurse named Pawan greeted him warmly and started calling him 'Baba,' which made my dad smile and feel safe. Pawan jokes with him, makes him laugh, checks in often, and helps with personal care like showers every few days--even when he's not the assigned nurse. That extra kindness changed everything. For several weeks I was in this facility recovering from fractured bones. They gave me the food, rest, and physical therapy I needed to heal. The vast majority of the people working there are glad to be there helping with many going above and beyond. One CNA in particular was Muller who stood out for his competent, friendly, and caring manner. He was able to help me in so many ways, anticipating my needs because of my limited mobility.

Their CNA's are the best very hard workers not all but most they take pride in their work. The physical therapy was spot on with the goal on getting you well. They listen to elderly patients stories and give them encouragement when they feel their beyond healing i seen them start a healing process and light returns back into their eyes. Patient ,steady and effective. occupational therapy was good getting you back to normal everyday life at home.. I recommend this place. I would go back there again except for the food. I stayed there for a total of six weeks, both pre and post surgery. Arriving on the weekend is challenging as it took a lengthy time for my meds to be apptoved so was in pain for many hours. There were several very good nurses including Christi, Rosio, Ana, Susanna, Mericel and Hector, to name a few. I did experience a small handful of not so great CNA's that were unpleasant and lazy but overall I received good care. My wife has spent 3 months at the facility and has received very good care. Normalyn has been an excellent case worker and Katey and Dori have done an excellent job with physical therapy. Cherice and Maracel have been excellent nurse aides taking care of my wife.

i'm in the skilled nursing section with a broken foot and leg not an easy thing to go through. the care givers are amazing, the director of nursing has made me open packages in front of her its humiliating as she had onne more person with her she told me it was because the health department made her do it because of anthrax. the health department says what shes doing is a federal perhaps they can watch you if yo and my packages ar3 a matter of privacy i still cant get my mail and one package has cost me 120.00 plus shipping... read more
