The food is a joke. HORRIBLE is being nice. Complete change in staff in kitchen starting at the top is much needed. If you want to lose weight because you can't eat their crap. Stay here.

Know your rights. As a patient or guardian, you are entitled to a Care Plan Conference. Caseworkers here act as if they don't know this and wouldn't share a health update and evaluation until repeatedly pressed. It's the law. In addition, the staff is overwhelmed and slow to respond to needs. The facility is old and dark - dark hallways, dark colors and therefore depressing. Staff slow to answer the phone if they answer at all. It's a sad and scary place.

What is up with this place in answering the phone or getting to a room?! Called 4 times today (1-3pm) pressing the buttons to get to the Operator and never getting the call answered. Just called (7pm) and got somebody but when I asked them to connect me to a person "they asked what room?" and of course I didn't know because this was the first time I actually spoke to person there. She told me "please hold" and phone started ringing again and again with no answer and then I was disconnected. Wow!!!! So literally call #5 d... read more

Two stars are only for the 10 star pt and ot staff. 20 days in this facility was 19 too long. Less than zero stars for communication about what is going to occur, what can be done to help your loved one recoup, what needs to happen before your loved one can be released. It took 10 days and 8 requests and the threat of putting my father in a wheel chair and rolling him out of the facility for a care conference, and then they had me talking to someone who wasn't his social worker. Horrible treatment by the staff here. My father has lost an extreme amount of weight since entering the facility. Sometimes they don't bring dinner to the patients after 8PM. They have also "lost" a huge amount of personal belongings of my fathers since entering the facility that no one claims they know anything about. I've seen nurses mocking patients that arnt able to care for themselves while walking down the halls of the facility. Extremely disgusting behavior. My mom was unresponsive at this facility for "12" hours, so they say????? They didn't even have the audacity to call me and let me know she was unresponsive nor at her final walong moments!!! If I wouldnt have called up there asking to speak to my mom, I would've got a call saying she was dead!!!!! I hate this facility and if I could do it all over again? Absolutely a horrible place to send a loved one. Very under staffed and horrible care. Sent wife home with no medications because she left early. They told is if you leave early we will not give you any of your meds to take home. Horrible experience.

Run! Run for your loved ones life! This place is a shitshow. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. You MIGHT get someone to actually pick up the phone but leaving a message is more of a joke. They normally just don't bother to return calls. My mom was in there for almost a month and I called to speak directly with her doctor 7 times with no return call. My parent stayed there for about a month. There were some really nice people, Linda, from the very beginning, caring and attentive nurses and nurse assistants (Saleem, such a sunny person). But Alisha Olson, the Case Manager/Discharge Planner single handedly brought our entire experience at Poway Healthcare to one star. She's short, never returns calls, doesn't keep you updated of the resident's progress after repeated calls and emails.
