Buy this and lose 1 inch on each LABEL While this unit provides a lot of nice benefits for labels and has a label save feature so you can bring them back up there are two things that makes this a waste of money. 1. All of the labels I had saved were gone as soon as the batteries died all where erased. 2. This is a money pit for the tape. The lead before the label actually prints is 1 inch. Every label you print will have 1 inch of tape that is wasted. As a designer of 20 years that is the worst design that I have ever encoun... read more
Listen to the reviews! I saw the reviews about how much tape this labeler wastes and thought to myself, "Yeah right, these people must be doing something wrong. I'm smart, I can figure it out." Well, the joke was on me. This labeler wastes about 2" of perfectly good blank tape every time you hit Print. To make matters worse, you then have to manually cut the label yourself if you want it to be a reasonable length, which of course never comes out perfectly straight. I'm actually offended that I spent money on a product that w... read more
Wastes tape & batteries To summarize what most have said. It's a nice unit with the following issues: - Uses too much tape on the ends; - Drains batteries when off (don't leave them in the unit)
Horrible horrible product This is just an awful product. Overly complex, forces you to waste tape. It's very difficult or impossible to create just the simplest label. I returned it immediately.
Very disapointing - worst quality ever I purchased two of these, one for the office and one for my home office and both of them are a disaster. The first one only prints in small letters and nothing I can do will make it print larger. The second one keeps displaying an error message of no cassette, I have to press print 5-6 times and shut it off and turn it back on to get it to print. I replaced the new cassette with a new cassette and now ever three or so labels it prints out backwards for no reason, I have to turn it off a... read more
Wastes kits of tape Each label has a wide margin and wastes lots of tape, that also means that after printing you have to manually cut each label.
Works great, gobbles tape, uses *6* AAA batteries! All the other reviews are correct: The thing wastes a lot of tape if you're just making one-off labels. If you can plan to do a bunch at once, you can separate them by spaces and cut with scissors to conserve. I've got a ton of AA rechargeable Eneloop AA batteries (* * * * * for those!), and went to pop them in, only to find that it takes six AAAs... so I was SOL. Fortunately I found an unused DC wall wart that has the right voltage and (-) center pole, so got lucky. Bottom ... read more
Requires approximately 57 batteries to work. The product might work great, but I wouldn't know, because I didn't empty my bank account in the battery section at target. There is no plug in option. I didn't realize any of this until I completely destroyed the packaging trying to get it out to use it, thus making it impossible to return. Spend a little bit more and get one that plugs in at least.
lame product I am happy with the labels this machine makes, but overall, I am very disappointed in the device. Every label produces 3 to 4 times as much label tape that is needed. Wow, really? and the label tapes are sold by the same company? There is no way to shorten the label tape to what is actually needed to make the label you want. I tried to buy an ac adapter, knowing that the 6 AAA batteries required to run the machine would die soon. I found out that the ac adapter cost $15 more than the label maker cost. When I bou... read more
