Kills batteries The prints look good and the options are nice but.. After using it once, the batteries died while not being used for a couple of weeks. Uses 6 batteries. 3 die and 3 are normal.. strange.. I found a contact had corrosion. Maybe I got a defective unit. Maybe they all do this. I am not happy. I am buying a different model and hoping for the best.
Annoying I *really* wanted to like this labeler. But I don't. First of all, as other people have mentioned, the margins are crazy - total waste of tape. And the tape is *not* cheap! It takes SIX batteries, and runs out of battery power pretty damn often. When it's not out of battery power, it works just fine, but the cost of the batteries does not make this labeler a good value. I'm going to switch to something else. Don't buy this - it'll waste your money!
Brother Home and OfficeLabeler (PTD200) customer review. Product on time and image the same as what was shipped. My wife was a labeler type of person and I can imagine her going around the house re-labeling just so she could use this machine! I myself would use this labeler as many books and tools have been lent out and never returned, (it's so much harder to keep someone else's property when they can prove it's their's). Drains batteries and tape cartridges with equal ease As noted by many others, gratuitously uses extra tape, and will drain 6 AAA batteries in 6-7 weeks WHILE TURNED OFF. User interface is also cumbersome and annoying to use. There are better labeling choices out there.
This is a piece of crap 1st of all this machine was nothing but trouble from the beginning. It uses way too much label tape. But sadly that's not the worse part. I put the 6 triple A batteries in then it says battery dead. Then I put in another 6 used them for a few labels and now those are dead. All brand new batteries. So this machine eats batteries faster than anything I've ever seen. Not to mention it keeps cutting off labels. It says when it's in chain that it will do that. But I changed it and it still did it. Need a lot of batteries Batteries die after using the printer about 4 times and this printer needs 6 AAA battery to operate. So the costs add up quickly.
Sometimes simpler is better. Avoid the aggravation and choose the PT90 instead. I still have the basic model P-Touch labeler (PT90) at home but decided to buy this fancier version for the office. Ugh. Whatta mistake. Where do I begin? Too many buttons, too many choices. Difficult to change type size quickly. Difficult to delete previous entry. Have to hit button twice to print. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK Brother PDT200 Buyer Beware! Purchased the PDT200 a while back, and recently purchased this P-Touch Iron On Labelsf for clothing. The labels were 27.00 for one box, which was only 3.00 less than what I paid for the PTD200. The interesting thing is that the unit is defaulted to a 2 inch margin on both ends of the label, which is insane. I believe is primarily done so Brother can make more money at the consumers expense. BATTERY DEAD I ordered 2 of these label makers for our office. The first one only lasted maybe a few uses before it keeps flashing 'Battery Dead'. I changed the batteries (even though the set that was already in the label maker was just fine), I was able to print one label and then it flashed 'battery dead' again.
