Blah! I read the reviews but still didn't realize just how much tape this labeler wastes. It was definitely designed to sell label tape. Even if you set the margin to zero it still uses an inch extra to clear the cutter, then you have to trim the label with scissors.
Why other AC power adapters won't work Brother did something to make most any other power adapter work - they reversed the polarity. Most have positive in the center and negative outside. Brother reversed them. Perhaps so other adapters won't work?? If you have a 9V ~1A DC adapter that fits the plug, and you're feeling handy, cut the cable and reverse the wires.
DOESN'T WORK! - "DEAD BATTERY". I read the other postings thinking it was just a fluke, but found the same problem everyone else has... "DEAD BATTERY" error message. The funny thing is this happens WHILE CONNECTED TO THE ADAPTER! COMPLETE JUNK!
Poor battery life ... It prints nice labels but I only get 7 or 8 labels before it shows low battery. After low battery shows, I've got one or two labels to go before it is dead. It takes six AAA batteries each time. I've been through about 30 batteries so far. It is great if you own a battery factory.
No Chinese,Same Model Number. Although it has the same model number in USA and China, it do not include any Chinese character. It can only print English character. It is a big mistake!!

too complicated to use. its automatically prints stuff backwards. I have to change the setting everytime I want to print the normal way. The sizing of the font and tape lengths are difficult to size.
Doesn't work. This labeler is terrible. First, it didn't turn off properly. I'd turn it off, but it would continue draining battery until it was dead. When I finally figured out how to keep it off (hold the button in for 30 seconds), the feeder stopped working, so the tape gets all crunched up. This happens even after replacing the tape. Wasted two tape cartridges trying to get it to work. Don't waste your money on this, you'll only end up buying a better one.
Nice and Simple This is a nice simple labeler but expect it to eat up alot of tape. Usually it adds about an inch or so to the end when you cut it, so there is significant waste of tape. The characters are nice and clear and its size makes it better for the young and old who want something bigger to hold onto. Screw the batteries though and just get the AC adapter.
