Nice Labels but NOT Worth the Price for HORRIBLE (!!!) software Definite compatibility issues with the Brother software and Mac OS X (El Capitan). It'll print but it'll MESS UP your Mac. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE SOFTWARE (for fun & different label making) provided on the Brother website [...] Amazon sure to delete website info but I'll provide it to you as a response to this 'Review'. Go for less expensive non-PC Connectible version
EATS Tape, Miss my OLD P-Touch Bought this as a replacement for a much older model. Printing labels use to be so simple. This model is way to complicated and the templates included aren't that useful. My biggest grip is with tape margins. Labels print with an inch of wasted tape on each side, even with the "small margins" selected. The only positive is the large, easy to read display.

Terrible piece of engineering Terrible piece of engineering. Seems designed to purposefully waste tape so you can purposely waste money. Mine has jammed after a few months and I cannot get the old cartridge out and must try disassembling it. Save your money and get something else.
Old TZ labels cannot be used on these new TZe label makers Damn. For those who don't know, you can't use your old TZ tapes with these new TZe label makers. The labels make look almost similar and their names close ("TZ" vs. "TZe"), but the contact are in different places so they simply won't work. My old TZ label maker's LCD screen was giving up and so I thought I'd buy a new label maker. But because of the above, I couldn't use my old labels with this.
Its good when it works but if it doesn't you are on your own I am rating it 2 stars mainly because of the poor tech support I received due to which I am not able to fully use the printer. I mainly bought this because of the PC connectivity it offers. I am able to use the P-touch Editor to design and print labels from PC just fine. But I am unable to transfer any files to and from the printer or backup the settings using the Transfer Manager software ("Transfer" and "Backup" buttons are disabled, see attached screenshot). Not quite I needed a label maker that could print four or five readable lines for snail mail. First I bought a Brother 400 series at half price (not Amazon) that could only do Four lines in microscopic fonts so I returned it and got this Brother 600 series which promised seven lines. It manages four in readable type and five, six and seven in micro type with a one inch cartridge. Typical lies like most companies do to sell something.
