Everything seemed ok when I went it, the environment is nice, and they offer you alcohol and beer, which is cool. Dr. Mann is nice at first, but he doesn't make eye contact when he talks, and at one point he completely ignored me and started having an in-depth convo with his tech. I felt like I wasn't in the room... weird. Anyways, he diagnosed my dog with a heart murmur... which my new vet has since said is not true, and some other serious issues. I wanted a second opinion, so after some awkward back and forth, (where I w... read more

The staff who work in this clinic are great, but the owner is terrible. Cares about money not your pets. My worst experience involved bringing my cat in for an emergency, at Dr. Mann's suggestion, and having my cat sit there for an hour in the back for nothing. He was suppose to get a CT scan but it was not done. I was not told even though I was right outside the clinic. Had he not remembered I was directly outside (as I said I would be) he could have at least just called me or had another staff call me. I finally came back ... read more

I'm very unhappy to have learned for the last six months I was giving my cat an incorrect supplement that was recommended by these vet techs & confirmed as ok by the vet. My cat had struvite crystals (blocked twice) and a then PU surgery at this facility. $6000 spent all in all (with one ER visit elsewhere). After feeding him rx food for a while I wanted to switch to a better quality food. They sold me potassium citrate w/ cranberry as a supplement to add to his food. I just took my cat to a new vet and she informed me th... read more

We brought a 13year old pug here for what seemed like kennel cough but could have been something worse, e.g. tuberculosis or heart worm. While there we talked about vaccinations because she needed them. They failed to diagnose the problem. The agreed to give her vaccinations the same day, even though I know now (had to research it on the internet, wasn't told any of this information by these veterinary professionals) that stresses the immune system even further and doesn't make much sense to give to an older dog who is a... read more

I've been bringing my dog here for three years. On our last annual visit the other week, I was really disappointed. The doctor barely checked my dog for more than 5 minutes then just left us with a $300 bill. The exam was not thorough and all they wanted to do was more tests that were ridiculously expensive. Maybe that's the whole gimmick? 5 minute exams and charge clients for tests that your dog most likely doesn't need. I'm going to need a find a new vet.

I have a cat and a dog and have taken them to Brooklyn Cares for the last five years because I have always found the care and cost decent. Thus, my recent experience with Dr. Mann prompted me to write this review. I have a 14 year old cat that has required trips to the vet every 3 months for excessive vomiting and loss of appetite for the past year; each time, a different diagnosis has been made and the cost has now totaled over $2000 in one year. My last (and final) visit was because the cat was once again extremely sick wi... read more

Dr. Mann is the worst!!! He left a voicemail message telling me that he "has great news" that my dog "may have cancer." He treated him "just in case" for a month, costing over three thousand dollars, then my dog died without a definitive reason. Their records are horrible. I was given various amounts of medication for my dog-all completely inconsistent and never unresolved. They have changed appointment times without notice. Never go here. It is a death sentence for your pet and your wallet.

I went here initially because my regular vet closed and recommended this place. I would NEVER recommend this place! Horrible. Horrible. My dog had a hematoma in his ear. They were quick to pressure me into surgery. It took 2 hours longer than they stated. The dressing and stitches broke open immediately. They overcharged me multiple times. They would often not return phone calls. I never saw the same vet twice. Once, they sent in an intern or extremely new nurse to explain the surgery that she was obviously unf... read more

Stay AWAY. Do not make the mistake of coming to this vet like I did. The veterinarian told me my cat wasn't fixed, and it was. They thought she was in heat and she wasn't (because she had been fixed). Instead she had a bad UTI and a worm. My cat could have died from the infection that they were unable to diagnose. They told me that she was in heat, when in reality she had been fixed and was sick. Wrongly diagnosed my cat with a level 3 heart murmur, which she did not have. It cost me $95 to do a heart test which they sa... read more
