I had been bringing my dog to Pure Paws for several years after the vet my dog had been seeing retired and Pure Paws was very nearby. She received decent care over the years, if a bit pricey. Thankfully, she has been pretty healthy so I mainly took her in for preventative care. Then, a few weeks ago on a Friday morning , my dog was attacked by another dog at the park. I've gone through 3 doctors at this place because neither of them ever follow up on the health of my dog after they've taken my money. After $3,000 in surgery bills, my dog is still having the same health issues as before. It wasn't until after I wrote a complaint that they reached out to me to tell me his tests were negative. What a waste of time, money, and stress.
Be warned: I have been taking my two dogs to this vet for seven years and I haven't seen the same vet twice. I don't really know if they can keep a vet for very long. They are expensive and my feeling is that no one ever really knows your dog. One of my dogs has tons of anxiety at the vet and they are unhelpful with her, even though I call ahead and remind them we have to be sort of rushed through. They never help with this. Front desk staff (mainly one) wasted my time on my day off. I waited an additional 20 minutes because of incompetency. In addition, this guy also "accidentally" selected the wrong option for my insurance which caused me to pay the full price and be reimbursed instead of receiving the invoice I was led to believe. I didn't have an issue paying the bill upfront, but it's completely unprofessional. I'm not sure if I'll be returning here, more than likely no. I've been going there for years, but the new vet seems inclined to roll her eyes at me. Last time I went in bc my dog was in serious distress w boils and swelling under her tail. A vet tech whisked her away to Express her glands and brought her back telling me nothing came out so I didn't have to pay. They hadn't booked me an actual appt and hadn't bothered to check her out. I WAS JUST DISCRIMINATED AGAINST HERE. I scheduled an appointment for 5 pm and arrived at 4:45 to check my dog in for her appointment. At 5:20 pm another customer comes in with his dog and checks in for a 5:pm appointment as well and at 5:23pm they were walking to the back with the doctor while we were still sitting there. All the staff here that I've seen are white besides the black man that was taking the trash out. Worst ever! Misdiagnosed my boy Lewy. Condescending to us and clearly misinformed and after 3 diagnostic tests equating to close to $5,000 dollars he had no diagnosis except for "there is nothing I would do". Something is clearly not right with this man and he claimed that he never mispoke and has been tape reordered many times as he "is so careful in his communication". Clearly, this is a MAJOR RED FLAG AND I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PERSON WHO BELIEVES HE KNOWS IT ALL. I know better..
We actually stopped going here after about six months for a couple of reasons: 1) inability to ever get an appt 2) the inconsistency across the practice - seeing a different tech or dr every visit 3) the fact that it took three appts and an insane amount of medications and time elapsed for them to diagnose MANGE - one dr even said about the other at the practice that she disagreed with how it was handled.

I have a 10 year old cat with tummy troubles who has had $2000 of vet care in the past 6 months. He was stable on a high-quality canned food for several months, but the newest shipment of food mysteriously changed texture, and he got worse on it.
