Once again, Red Eye Grill was superb. Food was excellent, our server was outstanding. DON'T pass up the bread offerings! Splurge one time and try them.
Mixed Table side this main course salad is simply perfect! OUr server went the extra mile throughout our visit even taking the time to write out his special Bloody Mary recipe… DId I mention the Bloody Mary was spot on! Remodel is better creating a warmer environment. can't wait to come back!
My son and I were there early on a Saturday for lunch. We were attended to right away. We were not rushed and our order came as requested. The food was fantastic as was the service. We shared the seafood platter, which was a bit pricer for what it was. My son had the steak, which he said was terrific, and I had the cod which was great. Would absolutely recommend for a special occasion, and for any other meal. The prices are a bit pricey, but it is New York.
Nice spot, fairly good food but service was not up to par.
The Service at this restaurant was exceptional. The food was very good too. We sat near the window in a circular booth, was great for a group of 6 and although the restaurant was loud, it was very manageable. The filets were excellent, my side of asparagus was stringy and not very seasonal. Otherwise that, I would highly recommend. Also, they came around a few times with freshly baked cookies on a cookie tray offering them to the tables. Very nicely done!
We went here for dinner before seeing the symphony at Carnegie Hall. Loved it! Had a very nice meal on the outdoor terrace. The food was delicious, albeit a bit pricey, but it's a nice restaurant in Midtown Manhattan with good food - what do you expect?
My friend was in from Florida and I had been to the Redeye before and I knew she would love it. We had a 5:30 reservation on Saturday night after we saw the Jersey Boys. We first had two drinks at the bar which were fabulous and the bar is very lovely and lively. Then we were seated at a really nice table for two on the end and both of us had a nice view. By 6/6:30 the place was packed. We both had steak. I had the filet mignon and she had the ribeye. They were cooked to perfection. We also had a side of fries and the french... read more
Every once in a while we return to Red Eye Grill, a large, flashy restaurant which is someone's idea of what a New York restaurant (not an elegant one) should be. The host station was manned by a suit who without his glasses could not find our reservation; fortunately he was saved by an elegant young woman whose grace made up for his myopia. Everything on the menu always reads as wonderful, but the food, no matter what is ordered, is surprisingly ordinary tasting. The prices would be easier to accept if the food were better.... read more
We have eaten here many times, but found our latest visit disappointing. The tables for two are quite close in typical NY fashion, but the gentleman at the table next to us was so loud that we were unable to have a conversation and they moved our table closer to him during the meal to give the couple on our other side room to get into their seat. Service was also only mediocre - expect more from Redeye. When our food was served the waiter did not come by to ensure that everything was good. I had finished my wine with my appe... read more
