Have eaten here a number of times at different times of the day, and always a great experience. Food, service and ambiance are great. Had lunch here this week and we must have gotten the waiter in training. It took 40 minutes to get our first course....and another 20 for the main course. the host was service these wonderful complimentary butterscotch cookies to diners who have had their meal, and we asked for some of them as our appetizers!
The staff who we interacted with at the restaurant was flexible and helpful as the exact number of people in our party varied between 3 and 5. The menu had s wide variety of delicious choices and the wine list was broad and varied. We never felt rushed. It was a terrific experience!
Met with a few clients and they were quite impressed with the food, environment, and service.
Our waitress was VERY pretty, VERY nice, had a great sense of humor. It was my guest's birthday, and the waitress presented his dessert with a nice flourish, a sparkling candle in his cake and "Happy Birthday" written in bold, elegant handwriting around the rim of the dish, in chocolate. Much appreciated.
We were seated right away, even though we had reservations, the waiter gave us a minute to get settled. . we had a cocktail before dinner. .my husband had the new England clam chowder which he said was the best he ever ate..the clams were fresh..(fish is flown in daily) .and dinner was superb. .general tso's lobster was delicious and the diver scallops with truffle purees was delicious as well..right across from Carnegie Hall and a nice walk to the theater. ...
From the time we arrived we felt welcome. Service excellent, food outstanding. We ordered Dover Sole and Branzino -- perfectly prepared and we are picky. The jazz piano and bass in the bar added a nice gentle background. This is my sixth time there and I will go back soon.
With all that is available in this area of NYC, you need to deliver the best or VERY good plates at the price point they are charging at this restaurant and they fall short.
They were very attentive to our needs. Gave great suggestions when we asked. The food was fresh and delicious. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone
My go to place when in New York. Consistent, pleasent, good food, great service. Always something different on the menu. Love that jazz one of the main reasons to sit and relax. Noise level for a NY restaurant is easy talking level.
