We went to Redeye for our anniversary. the meal was excellent. our server was very friendly, upbeat and knowledgeable. they did not rush us. the only draw back was the tables were close together. everything else was great. my husband and I very much enjoyed the food.
Wasn't great for wheelchair access - Waiter took poured water and took our order - someone else brought our good and helper/bus boy brought bread and kept water filled - wasn't ask if we wanted dessert - people around us come, ate and left - we had to flag our waiter down for the check - our steaks were good and cooked properly. Disappointed with service for the price of the steak.
Waited a long time for our entrees. My husband ordered shrimp cocktail and the scallop entree. It was way to long between appetizer and entree. I ordered decaf coffee and the server brought caffeinated coffee. Good thing we asked. Made a note in the open table reservation that it was a birthday celebration, and there was no acknowledgement from the waitress about it. However, the food was delicious and we would go back.
Over the years, we have been to this restaurant many times and it never disappoints. The food is always fresh and the steaks and seafood are of the highest quality. The appetizer salads and the fried artichokes were great . The porterhouse for 2 was done as asked. The crab and shrimp dinner was also done perfectly. The desserts are out of sight both in size and taste. Very glad to see some things don't change.
Although the prices are a bit high, the food is excellent! And it's a fantastice place if you are attending a concert at Carnegie Hall.
We took friends and they loved it. If they only had the wine we wanted. Second time there and second time didn't have wine even though on the menu. It was two different wines.
We were a group of six women having early dinner before going to city center. Everything worked out fine. We were given a round table as requested. Everyone was happy with their meal The only criticism was we had to ask for butter for the bread several times before a decent amount was given. Also a bit pricey
Greeter was very goof. Bartender and bar wait staff were distracted, and the waiter was friendly, but not very good. Wait staff were average at best, not what I expected in New York. Food was good. General tso's Lobster overwhelmed the lobster flavor. Steaks excellent. Brussels Sprouts very good I will return.
Food and service were great. Stayed at table for drinks after and never felt rushed although it was a busy night.
