Great food, a little on the pricey side. Recommend for special occasion. Close to Carnegie Hall.
Redeye Grill has a very good steak and great seafood. The decor has changed from an aviation theme to somewhat of a Carribean theme and the atmosphere is slightly more subdued than it has been in the past. I had a great rib-eye steak with brussel sprouts, onion rings and spinach. My wife had a fish dish that was great as well. The food came quickly and our drinks were never left empty. Professional waiters, wonderful food, delicous finishing touches. We were in ecstasy through the entire experience.

food was good. service extremely disappointing - our entree came before our appetizer and nobody came to apologize or anything for the mishap. and we had asked why our meal was taking so long to get the appetizer. for a restaurant that has been around awhile, it was quite a surprise that the service didn't match the food.
We booked a last minute table after a visit to MoMA on a recent sweltering evening. It was available, close by, and I remembered it from years ago. I expected an air conditioned Midtown tourist trap but with a hungry child in tow, we weren't feeling picky. Service was excellent, starting with the hostess who greeted us all the way to the bus boy who cleared the table at the end. Red Eye always comes through with a great meal whether for dinner, lunch or brunch.
Although we stayed across the street at the Manhattan Club for many years, we never went to the Redeye Grill. This trip to Manhattan to visit with my son who lives in London, we decided it was time to eat at the Grill. The meal was delicious, the service perfect and the background music excellent. It is a restaurant we should have eaten at years ago. We will go back again when staying in Manhattan.
I've eaten at the Redeye many times and always enjoy the food and service. Their freshly baked cookies and chocolates are also fabulous.
