food was good. service extremely disappointing - our entree came before our appetizer and nobody came to apologize or anything for the mishap. and we had asked why our meal was taking so long to get the appetizer. for a restaurant that has been around awhile, it was quite a surprise that the service didn't match the food.

We booked a last minute table after a visit to MoMA on a recent sweltering evening. It was available, close by, and I remembered it from years ago. I expected an air conditioned Midtown tourist trap but with a hungry child in tow, we weren't feeling picky. Service was excellent, starting with the hostess who greeted us all the way to the bus boy who cleared the table at the end. Although we stayed across the street at the Manhattan Club for many years, we never went to the Redeye Grill. This trip to Manhattan to visit with my son who lives in London, we decided it was time to eat at the Grill. The meal was delicious, the service perfect and the background music excellent. It is a restaurant we should have eaten at years ago. We will go back again when staying in Manhattan.

I've eaten at the Redeye many times and always enjoy the food and service. Their freshly baked cookies and chocolates are also fabulous.

My wife has been to Redeye several times when traveling in NYC for business. She suggested it for a pre-theatre dinner. The room is beautiful & the food was very good to excellent. As good as it was, however, the service was brilliant. The hostess was gracious (casual attire is not unwelcome) and our waiter, Jerry T., was probably the best waiter I've ever had, anywhere. He made us feel like family and were were well taken care of. He even noticed in error in my food as it came to the table before i did and had it corrected ... read more

This restaurant is the perfect companion to a great New York experience. Fabulous food, service and ambiance. This is our 4th visit and a must on our list when visiting Manhattan. NYC just wouldn't be the same without a visit to the Redeye Grill. We'll be back!

This restaurant has the most outstanding wait staff because they are all so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The steak, when ordered plain, had too much salt on it. The crab and lobster lasagna was exceptional & delicious. The live music added to the ambiance by the bar.
