The experience was not as good because my boss asked for raw tuna & they cooked it, rare but cooked!! He's too polite to send it back. Otherwise it was a great experience for my group who went for the first time; it's one of my favorites!
My Dad and I had a terrific pre-Carnegie Hall dinner together. We were a bit short of time and the staff took good care of us -- seated us, took our order, and served us promptly, and also suggested food that wouldn't take too long to prepare. It was a nice touch when a server came around with hot chocolate chip cookies (still on the baking sheet) for all the diners.
Not our first time. And the food was just as I remembered. Redeye will always be part of our rotation.
Booked reservation based on good reviews, but was disappointed. Wife got the seafood paella based on rave reviews and it was mediocre at best - a bunch of mostly overcooked seafood over "saffron rice" that might as well have been rice-a-roni. My wiener schnitzel a la holstein was super-salty, as one might expect, but not particularly remarkable. The service here was overbearing and insincere. We've been in NYC for several days and dined in numerous fine restaurants and this is the first miss.
Outstanding! Pricey but well worth it, from appetizers to deserts! Great experience!
Love The Redeye Grill, their seafood paella is outstanding. Our waiter was engaging and attentive.
Lovely brunch offering, although we all opted to order from the lunch menu because reviews said the seafood was so good. And it was. Crabcake was delicious. Seafood paella was a treat. Glasses of soda were delivered, along with a little carafe to refill. What a great idea! Vibrant, fun place with good food and service. Get a teable on the periphery as there is good people watching as well. Eclectic menu. Don't expect to have a quiet, private conversation.
The special crab cake with grilled shrimp was to die for and i loved the lobster mac & cheese. what a great combination. our server was incredibly nice and helpful. great nite out.
