Food was fabulous! Very cool ambience inside! Server was terrible. Took 20 minutes before she stopped quickly at our table and immediately said “you ready to order?” No introduction, welcome. Zero personality. Luckily a manager noticed and rescued our experience.
The food came out cold and it wasn’t that good. The location is excellent info for Carnegie Hall.
Food was excellent, but service was a bit slow and server wasn’t always attentive. When we ordered dessert, I asked for the check as soon as possible, but it took over 15 minutes to get it.
We often dine here before concerts at Carnegie . The food is usually very good as is the service. Tonight we were disappointed. I had the vegetarian teriyaki bowl which was excellent. My husband ordered the crab burger which was tasteless . The seafood pattie was paper thin and the dish did not look very appetizing. It should never be on the menu esp. not at $32! Because of previous good experiences we will probably give this place one more try.
Our experience has always been enjoyable in red eye at thanksgiving when we come and visit New York, but the standard of food has dropped hugely. Lovely helpful staff, gorgeous ambience, but the thanksgiving set menu was so so disappointing
We had an early reservation. Turned out that was because they had a big party coming at 7:15. The restaurant was half empty. The service was lackadaisical. We had to ask for silverware 3 times during the meal. The food was meh. Two of us had sushi. A rainbow roll, 6 small pieces, $25. Outrageous. We requested a quiet table and got one in the bag. The gentleman at the door was a wonderful, old-fashioned maitre d’. The restaurant was almost empty, so the quiet table was easy to acquire. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. We ordered two simple breakfasts, for which we waited 30 minutes, with no explanation or apology for the long wait. I have eaten here many times. But I will never return. The last two times the food has been mediocre. It’s just not the same. This was the consistent experience of all the diners in my party. I don’t know what happened, but this restaurant has just lost it.
Apparently I have to write something here in order to send a private note to the restaurant. All I really wanted to do was send a “private” note. Open table you are making things difficult.
