Celebrated a friends birthday while I was in from West Coast. Everything was over-priced even for New York standards. Even got charged for his birthday desert.

Rude abrupt booked a table for 8.45 sat down and was told we had 3 minutes before the kitchen closed . Needless to say walked out and went to a very busy Italian Quality Italian Down the St . Great food great fun . Restaurants have moved on from the red eye grill Never going back

I have been going to red eye for over 20 years Was definitely disappointed in the food Was underwhelmed by the sushi and dumplings And the cod and spinach were definitely served cold Disappointing and over 240$ for 3 w no drinks

We had lunch at Redeye Grill before a Sunday Broadway matinee. We ordered oysters, clam chowder, gem lettuce salad, steak frites and the miso cod with chocolate cake for dessert. The food was generally delicious except for the steak, which was dry on the outside and chewy inside -- very disappointing for $45. The chocolate cake was also underwhelming -- the cake was very moist but it was coated in too-thick frosting that was too chilled to be really edible. We’ve been going to Redeye Grill for more than 20 years and this was the first time that everything was subpar. The dancing shrimp were grossly overpriced; by the time you remove the head and tail, only about 1” of heavily breaded shrimp remains. For $5/shrimp, it was a disappointment. Scallops very disappointing . They were overcooked snd flavor of dish very fishy. Ate one . No bread with dinner. Burger was very salty. Drinks were excellent. Overall very pricey snd food not good. Would not recommend.
