Booked about 2 weeks in advance for my husband’s birthday. Booked a hotel close by so we could walk. Walked there only to be told the restaurant was closed due to a fire. No prior phone call whatsoever. Very disappointed in the customer service.
We didn’t get to eat at Redeye Grill...they had a fire in the kitchen and didn’t bother to notify us that they were closed for the night until we walked up to the door. When we tried to find another restaurant with open table the app wouldn’t let us make another reservation because we had not checked in at Redeye Grill. Very frustrating. Especially on our anniversary wknd.
The food was terrible and it took forever to get service. It was also extremely over priced. Worst meal I have had in NYC.
Very expensive for what you are getting. A bit of a tourist trap. I would not recommend.
We have been coming to the Redeye for 20 years. We were very disappointed this visit. My husband could not finish his smoked salmon and eggs because it did not taste good. This has never happened at a restaurant or at home before. He also disliked the breakfast potato side dish. The crab and avocado salad was tasty, but the desert menu was filthy and the dark chocolate cake was too sweet-not worth the calories or the $12.50. We did not finish it.
Food great but waiter inattentive last 30 minutes as he was texting.
Realy disappointed for this lunch date. The service was not great even though the waiter kept apologizing. The steak was not wonderful and frankly had been sitting around obviously yet sliced too early before serving. Blood all over the plate as well and grease.
The fish tacos came out cold. The initial order came out wrong, but they corrected that. The spinach was terrible. The lobster Mac and cheese was terrible.
Good food. Great host.... Really disappointed that they got rid of the Jewish mashed potatoes...we came all the way from Wyoming for those!!
