Server was inexperienced and not fit for a restaurant of this supposed caliber. For that matter, the overall dining experience at Bartolotta fell short of our expectations. The salads were too simple and forgettable. Pastas were decent. Meat dishes left a lot to be desired.
This restaurant was not to our liking. It's too small. The tables are crowded together, so you always have some waiters backside in your face. The chairs are uncomfortable and we found the menu very limited. This is definitely not a good Bartollota restaurant. We have enjoyed their other restaurants, but I don't think we will return here...............
i normally love this restaurant. unfortunately, this time was another hit or miss experience. the service was fair - our immediate server was great but the supporting staff weak. never got more bread, always had to ask for me items. i was disappointed with the food too, salmon overcooked, salad (greens looked old, limp) - of coiurse i will go back because i do enjoy it, its just a shame because i was out at a business meeting and the overall experience didn't impress them.
The food and service at this restaurant are great. However, the last 2 times we have gone here, they have had huge groups in the small dining room. These large groups interfere with the kitchen being able to get food out in a timely manner (80 minutes from ordering to delivery of entrees!) and our ability to have conversation at our table for two. We chose this restaurant as a special place to celebrate our 21st anniversary, and it really was an expensive disappointment. The menu was very limited. They were having some sort of computer problem, and the service was extremely slow. There were people that came in after we did, and they were served well before us. I had to flag the waitress down to get more wine. The food was just OK and very expensive. My seafood was very over-ccoked and the other meal was very saltly.
Excellent service. We arrived early and they were able to seat us. Will return.

For the price we were not too impressed with this restaurant. Although we made the reservation and noted if was our anniversary, and confirmed as such, it was not mentioned. The special was a tasting menu with wine was $85.00. We each had different offerings on the menu and thought the wine pairing was off on the scallop dish along with the portion of that appetizer. 1 scallop cut in thirds?, Balsamic vinegar? odd. Service was off and so was food. I'm from out of town and took local guests per my recommendation. I probably won't return.
