RUDE. RUDE. RUDE. My fiance bought me a BEAUTIFUL engagement (designer engagement ring) from this location. A (side) diamond has fallen out 5 times! Luckily he purchased a lifetime protection plan, so they have been replacing the diamond... but the manager of that location is nothing but rude (John)-- insisted that I am to "rough" on my ring..and talked about himself for a good 10 minutes before he let me get a word in. Make sure you know your diamonds. An engagement ring bought at the RH Woodfield store less than a year ago, proved to not be the clarity and color of the EGL Gem Card they gave us.
We did a custom made engagement ring here and it was a huge mistake. The company returned the ring and it appeared fine, but one of the .5 diamonds was replaced with a cubic zirconia! We took it to an appraiser in Barrington and discovered that the only diamond that was not bought with a GIA certificate and didn't come with x-rays of its internal structure and an engraved number was mysteriously replaced. Went to look at wedding bands with my fiancé, and the experience was similar to what you think of when dealing with a slimy used car salesman. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted (two toned white and rose gold) but the salesman made a point to tell me that wasn't a good choice, I'd regret it, etc. He was pushing another band on me HARD. If I could give no stars I would! Worst experience to date. I knew we shouldn't have gone to the mall to get my husbands wedding band but we found a cool tungsten carbide band we had never seen before. Well he dropped it and the ring broke off that connected to the outer end less than a year after having it. Took it in and they made us pay $50 to get a replacement. This companies greatest asset is also it's downfall. That is: Customer Service. The Story: I was in the works of having a very nice and expensive ring made, however my girlfriend found a ring on pinterest she really loved, she's also told me she did NOT by ANY means want me to spend a lot of money. Very disappointed with the Schaumburg location--which is a shame because I had a wonderful experience at the Skokie location. First, they didnt let my fiance know when the engagement ring was ready. When he called to inquire one week after they said it would be ready, there was no record of the order. When he picked up the ring, they just gave him the ring.
