While bouncing around Gaslamp we noticed their first location had closed not knowing they just moved into a new spot. So your surprise we saw their signage and after chatting with the hostess decided to have a drink and a snack, after all, it was happy hour! Came upon this place on accident. I can't wait to dress up next time for date night and come back without the kids! Although the kids meal are delicious and will be bringing them back for family dinners! And Valentina and her staff are amazing and kept us satisfied!
Food quality = very good but only luke warm *Portion size = poor (left hungry) *1 main course, 2 sides (all the same size) Chardonnay = stale Service was satisfactory but not remarkable.
Romanissimo in Gaslamp was honestly some of the best Italian food I've had in San Diego. The staff was super friendly and made the whole dinner feel easy and welcoming. We ordered the pasta carbonara and the Radiatori Al Sugo, and both were amazing. The carbonara was rich, creamy, and full of flavor, with the pancetta on top giving it that perfect salty crispy bite. OMG, how have I not been to Romanissimo sooner?! I stopped in recently with friends and we had such a great time. The food was delicious, the drinks were amazing, and the whole place has such a fun atmosphere that for a minute you feel like you're sitting in Italy. It was the perfect spot for a girls' night out. We came in with a large group and Simi and Fransesco were able to take our orders and payments efficiently . They were very attentive and kind as well. I recommend this restaurant and them as servers!
