Great food and excelente service from Fabio. Great music And ambiance, will come Back for sure.
If you want to feel like you stepped straight into Italy without leaving San Diego, this Italian restaurant in the Gaslamp Quarter is the place. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere wraps around you like a warm Mediterranean evening. Authentic Italian music plays softly in the background, the lights are cozy, the mood is romantic, and suddenly you're no longer in California -- you're somewhere between Rome and Naples. Now, the food -- simply outstanding. The pasta is pure perfection, rich, fresh, and incredibly authen... read more
We had a great experience at Romanissimo! We decided to come for our anniversary dinner and were very impressed. Our server, Matteo, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. Our drinks tasted great, as did the food. I highly recommend the cheese wheel pasta which was even more delicious that I expected it to be. They also gave us a surprise dessert a the end since it was our anniversary!
Ambiance is lovely. Food from start to finish delizioso The Expresso Martini was wonderful. The burata on eggplant was delicious. Enjoyed the Arugula salad. My husband had the Pasta Bolognese and said it was one of the best ever - Fresh homemade pasta. I had the Branzino with a light lemon cream sauce - perfect and our Italian Waiter excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant from a 1st generation Italian
This place was once Saltwater, I believe. Good atmosphere although loud. The food was excellent, they ask you if you want bread but don't tell you they charge you for it. (very much like in Italy). Good selection of wine and the lemoncello torte was delicious. Highly recommend.
Excellent Italian food, the service was fantastic and helpful, beautiful Italian ambiance. I hardly recommend and I will came back again.

We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the service, food, ambiance, and selections at Romanissimo Cucina Italiana. Thank you for recommending us!
Food was fantastic! From the flavor to the presentation to the amazing people who were serving us! Maria was the best!!
This was the best burrata caprese salad we've ever had! We also loved the fettuccini alfredo! Didn't need to add salt/pepper/cheese to it at all! Also their prices were very good during happy hour. Only qualm is that the decor (esp bathroom doors) seemed a little tacky/dated. But we liked the lighting and the server Maria was very nice!
Excellent and authentic Italian with fantastic service, all dishes were delish and nice Roman decor
