This morning I stood in my kitchen and watched the Rumpke recycling driver literally drive right past by recycling wheeled tote which was at the end of my driveway. He then missed one whole street and left our neighborhood. I immediately called Rumpke and after being on hold 10 minutes, finally spoke to a CSR. I explained the issue and was told they have no way of contacting the driver and instead she would let the routing supervisor know about the problem. Extremely unreliable service. About once a month expect either your trash or recycling not to be picked up. The only reason this company is in business is because the consumer has no other options.
What's the best reward for a kid that works all summer to have spending money for college, trains and works out everyday to be ready to play college soccer and volunteers to train under privileged kids the basics of soccer - A CRACKED WINDSHIELD FROM AN UNKEPT RUMPKE TRUCK WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY! DO NOT USE RUMPKE. Contracted with Rumpke for a dumpster at my property in Covington based on information from the city. Found out later that they are nearly twice as expensive as the competition. Made a payment through their "automated" pay-by-phone system. Apparently the account number was typed into the phone incorrectly because Rumpke added an NSF charge even though the "system" accepted the account number. If you're hauling stuff out to Mt. Rumpke yourself, be prepared. I had someone tell me they closed at 4, but really, it's 3. It is way cheaper than calling some junk removal service, though.
For the past 6 out of 8 weeks I have to call the office for my recycle bin to be picked up. This is not only on my street but the entire subdivision. My husband and I both called yesterday and were assured that the recycle bin would be picked up - it has yet to be picked up. Why must I call for someone to do their job? Why are you offering a service that we have to call and ask you to perform? If this continues I have no other choice but to cancel service. What has happened to your once reliable service?
Rumpke did not pick up my elderly parents trash on Wednesday, August 22nd (it was put out the night before). A call was made wed late day and they said it would be picked up thurs. Thurs came and went. I called fri and they said that what I was told before was incorrect...that they had 48 to pick it up. Stupid, inconsistent customer service. Well they didn't pick it up sat. It's a beautiful day in Glendale. The sun is out, the birds are chirping, the flies are circling the trash that has been on my curb for the past 48 hours now. This began two weeks ago when Rumpke seemingly skipped our house for trash pickup. I just assumed that they had missed the house, and moved the trash inside to take it out again the next week. We have a 3 year old who is awakened screamimg every Wednesday at about 3:45am when one of theyre drivers comes by to collect a nearby dumpster. After several called in complaints this is still an ongoing issue with no apparent resolution. Rumpke must be okay with traumatizing toddlers.
