This restaurant was recommended by hotel. I wanted something special as it was my husbands birthday. We were both disappointed having read some good reviews. Steaks were average and it was really expensive. We should have complained at the time but it was busy and we just wanted to leave. Didn’t help when we received our bill and hadn’t finished our wine!!
One steak was not prepared as ordered had to be sent back twice. Server explanation of different cuts for their special was incorrect said it was like a filet but it was the thinnest steak I ever saw. Very dissappointed.
I knew better than to go to Saltlik. The last time I went wasn’t great, and I hadn’t been back in years... Had I not had a gift card ($100) we wouldn’t have gone... but, since we did, it made sense to give it another chance. It’s not that anything was specifically wrong (other than they marked me as a “no-show” and I had to reach out to OpenTable to have it corrected)... but rather that it’s more expensive and less consistent than my go-to, the Keg. The food was excellent and the price although a little on the expensive side was more or less what I expected from a steakhouse. I do think more could be offered along with the main course in terms of sides beside just a baked potato. Perhaps some veggies etc. My only real complaint was the service. Our server was friendly but it felt very much like we were not a priority to her. We noticed her frequenting her other table far more often than ours. Over priced for a 10 ounce steak that had 3 ounces of fat....any place that charges extra for add ons doesn't work well for me.
Music was so loud, everyone had to shout to be heard at their tables. They got our side order wrong. Steaks were horribly under-cooked. Steak that was sent back was simply put back on the grill (or in the broiler) rather than replaced, so it came back over-cooked. Second round of our drinks took almost half an hour to come. Dessert, same as the second round of drinks. No compensation offered, except the $3 overcharge for the side we did not order.
It was meh. Table of 6 first table in and they over did my husbands burger. He watched us eat then we watched him. No solution just a remake ummm that is not acceptable. In a city of excellent choices I think we will choose another. Also it’s my inlaws 51 st anniversary today which we told the waiter - they could have brought them a celebratory desert sad they didn’t it would have been a good way to end a meh expensive dining experience
We waited over an hour for our food.
It took 12 minutes AND a comment with the head Hostess to get a waiter to even acknowledge my existence. Meanwhile I could continually see the Hostess desk. There would be 4 to 5 hostesses hovering around. A lot of service people gabbing around the bar and elsewhere.
