Our stomachs got upset shortly after the dinner. We assumed is related to food that we ate in restaurant.
I ordered a prime sirloin that was supposed to be 7 oz, everyone commented how small it was , looked more like 3-4. It was tough with some fat and grisle. I was with some customers so did not want to create a fuss, so just chewed it down. The server kept trying to point me to the more expensive wines rather than ordering the bottle I did ($79). I ordered the steak on “special”, and it was the toughest, most over-salted steak I have ever had. Stringy and nearly impossible to cut. Side of asparagus was salted to a ridiculous level. My husband’s filet was decent and both steaks were the same price. Service was sparse, simple drinks (vodka soda and a tonic with lime) took forever to arrive. We were scoping out a good place to take visiting family...we’re going to keep looking.
The steaks and extras were really outstanding, great food. French onion soup was very tasty but not hot enough. Service left many wishes open. We agreed to swap a baked potato by corn but still were charged. At the entrance I was greeted for my 60th birthday event and offered a glass of Prosecco. Our waiter later not only refused to serve one but told me "we don't do that anymore". A pity!
Service was slow. Took over 15 minutes to get our drinks after waiting 15 minutes to even order it. Our waitress had no idea we were her table until we had been waiting for a while. When we ordered our steaks medium and they came out rare, we would have said something but our waitress was absent for the first 20 minutes of our meal. Once we told her we were disappointed with our steaks she said she would get her manager and the manager was lovely. He took care of almost half our bill and was very apologetic. Sat for 25 minutes and no one came by to serve us. Got up and left. Never going here again!
It felt a lot more commercial in there than what I expected. Also, we did not enjoy that the fish was served with tomato sauce; it’s a weird combination. We eat at a lot of higher end restaurants and love to try new places when we stay in Calgary. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be back.
Food was good, service was lacking. Meals mixed up, no serving spoons for share plates. Had to wave waiter over to make our dinner order.
