Took my family and future in-laws here to celebrate before our wedding rehearsal. Food came out alright for most people, but my burger came out on a crumbly bun that tasted like dust along with meat tasting like newspaper. I barely managed one bite completely killing my appetite for the day. We had a table booked for late in the evening. When we arrived to the restaurant, we saw a note saying that the place was closed due to a broken water pipe. I suggest you call your clients and inform them, otherwise it's a waste of time coming downtown for dinner.
After having an exceptional dining experience at "The Keg" while on vacation in Calgary, our visit to Saltlik was a complete disappointment. We waited 43 minutes for our meal to come out and then they forgot to cook one of the meals. The prawn skewer had shrimp not prawns on it. One of the steak meals they brought a sandwich instead of the steak an accompaniments, but it took so long for the meal to come out that my client just went ahead and ate it.
It was our first time coming to this establishment as it was recommended by many people. My plan was a special birthday dinner for someone special, but that didn't end up as planned. Steaks were poor quality and not hot, baked potatoes were cold, restaurant music was too loud to talk, requested the volume down and it went up. Waiter was incredibly slow and service was poor.
Came for Big Taste. Food was great, didn't serve same options as was listed on Big Taste website so that was confusing. Waiter was mediocre, rarely to check on us often, missed a dessert for one of us so we had to wait. Loved the food but for the service needs to be bumped up a bit
The service and food were good; unfortunately, at the end, we experienced an unpleasant incidence. The hostess entered the wrong table number by mistake and charged us for the next table's food. They explained they could not refund it right away (not an usual/reasonable business practice) since the manager who authorized to do the refund was not there. Have dined at the Saltlick in the past and have had good enough experiences....unfortunately booked this past Wednesday evening for my dad's 75th birthday celebration and would not recommend taking a chance for special occasions at this restaurant. Ambience was great, hostess very pleasant and two of four meals good but the other two came out luke warm and it took three try's to get the food warm.
