We had a reservation and were seated reasonably promptly. Food quality was 'ok' but not a true value for the premium menu prices. Entree portions were small and unoriginal in presentation. The dining area was noisy such that pleasant conversation at our table was awkward to be heard between ourselves. If someone is new to Calgary then give this place a try, but for our experience it wasn't a repeat calling to dine here again anytime soon.

My brother introduced me to this restaurant and I've loved it ever since. However, I went there recently and the ribeye was under salted, and the fries over salted. It is not the most child friendly restaurant. No high chair or childrens menu, and The food isn't quite modifiable for a child, unless you want to pay a fairly large price for salt and pepper seasoned items.

The restaurant is in a great spot and very nice inside. Our waiter was great. Very helpful and very considerate. The problem is it is one of those restaurants where they use the team server system where whoever is there brings food out. I ordered a steak with two types of side orders of vegetables. The vegetables must have been sitting ready for a while because they were cold when they came out. When I sent them back our waiter said the new ones should be ready soon. We reserved a table New Years Eve at Saltlik as we have many times in the past. Our table was delayed for a short period of time but we were able to wait in the bar. Once seated we were greeted by a kind young waiter who appeared to be inexperienced. Our appetizers were served - the Caesar salad was very good however the French Onion Soup was filled with bread cubes. The table beside us arrived later and received their meals well before us. Service was adequate. The room itself is nice. The food was not good. Cheese toast was terrible, something under a hot lamp. My homemade grilled cheese is better. Steak was under cooked as I asked for medium rare and got rare. My wife wasn't overly thrilled either. By no means are we the picky or foodie type but we know what we like and this was not it.

We were welcomed and seated by one person, had a second take our wine order and inform us that a third person would be looking after us, and after some time had the third person introduce himself and re-take our wine order again. I went for lunch with a colleague who is leaving Calgary, and wanted to have Alberta Beef before leaving. The service was poor, waitress couldn't remember our drink order (simple, 2 glasses of water and a Ginger Ale), and also couldn't remember our steak order (simple, 1 medium Fliet and 1 medium Sirloin). Expected better, especially for the price. One of the steaks was under cooked and neither was very tender. $35 for a piece of meat and a potato? When you make it into a real meal (i.e. add some vegetables) you're looking at $45 - $50 / plate. Service wasn't very attentive - food plates roughly placed on the table as staff hurried off. First cup of coffee was undrinkable, second was about the same - probably the same pot. Overall no major incidents but won't be in a hurry to return.
