I would try the Saltlik again as I think it was a one off chance that the waiter we had wasn't on his "A game" that night. Food was very good.

Friday night, restaurant was maybe 20% full, should have been first warning. Was seated at our table, our waitress was actually sitting at another table talking, she looked over at us, but kept her conversation going. The hostess came back to get our drink orders, 5-7 minutes later she finally came over. The fish dishes were OK, but the steaks were terrible. This is not the first time dining at the Saltlik. i have enjoyed every meal... every visit. i will, no doubt, return.

First, we didn't get a coffee ordered. We had to request it a 2nd time. When it came it wasn't hot. We had to ask where our appetizer was. When it came it,first bite, was very salty (calamari) and the waitress said she'd come back after we had a chance to test it a little further. She never did. We scraped all the batter off in order to eat it. One of our orders was ribs. Found out they were out of ribs. It was 6:15 pm on a Sunday! How many orders have you gone through already? Very, very average food. Nice atmosphere, ambience and pleasant service however the food was that of a greasy spoon establishment. Presentation lacked even the most minimal of the "wow" expected from any dining location on 8th ave downtown and anything to tantilize my tastebuds certainly followed suit. Quite disappointed given that I have always been quite an Earls fan....

Was not a good of a place as I expected. Waited 23 minutes from walking in the door to receiving our drink order. (Yes, we had a reservation). Table was dark and hard to see the menu... However, i wasn't very impressed with the items on the Menu. Mediocre at best. This place seems dedicated to serving oil and gas employees on expense accounts. I wasn't impressed. Two of us took a client for lunch. Both mine and the client's steaks were ordered medium rare, we both received very rare, bordering on "blue" steaks. As our third party had ordered pasta, it didn't make sense to have him not eat or eat without us if we returned the steaks, therefore, we ate what we could of them. The client pointed the error out when his plate was taken away. They removed the one steak off the bill.

The food was good. I find the appetizers a touch small for their price tag, but they were actually the highlight of the meal. The ribs were just great, although advertised as "dry ribs" they were anything but.Calamari was fantastic! The lunch special tenderloin was well received. I had the sirloin and it was not pleasing. I couldn't get one bite without a tendon running through the meat. Quite a poor cut. Service was SLOW and not attentive. Saltlik bills itself as having premier steaks, however the steak I had, which was not cheap, was gristly and tough. Very poor. I won't be back.
