It has taken me 5 years to write this review. The doctor at Willow Bend was so horrible to me during my mammogram. I kept asking questions of the staff so they brought in the doctor. The doctor came in mad at me for her having to talk to me. She told me to look at the screen and then said "see that, that is breast cancer. You will need chemo..." Getting a mammogram is one of the most nerve wracking events a woman goes through each year, and especially if she has a strong history of breast cancer in her immediate family. The staff are all polite and professional here. It's the wait time that kills me. They are ALWAYS behind as we all sit in a room with several other women in drapes that are immodest with the first wrong turn. The lockers were out of service somehow at my last visit too. This was my first mammogram- hearing good things about Solis-and getting a recommendation from my MD I just went with Solis. They called to schedule the appointment and took my insurance information and not one time did anyone tell me they are out of network with Aetna and I would be charged for what is supposed to be a free service. I know ultimately it is my responsibility to check insurance and I will make sure to do so next time! On top of the bill, the experience was humiliating. I had an awful visit at Solis mammography today. The person at the front desk, Darry Watson, was extremely rude and condescending. She spoke to me like I was a child and was cold and uncaring. After I said I wanted to file a complaint, she refused to give me her name. I then spoke to the office manager who was not helpful. It was a horrible experience. I went in for a diagnostic mammogram and a sonogram as this was requested from a new P.A. that I went to see due to having breast pain, sensitivity and aching. My Mother had breast cancer so it's important! No follow up from their radiologist or office after 3 months. If your doctor refers you here be sure to ask for an alternative or check with your insurance company and yelp to find a better establishment.
The worst experience. I experienced unfair treatment upon check in. I sent an email to let them know what happened along with a note from my doctor to ask them to perform mammogram. The only response I received from them was "your concern was forwarded to leadership and you will receive a call back". It's been a month. I haven't heard anything back from the leadership. I had a 9:15 a.m. appointment this morning and arrived more than 15 minutes early, around 8:55 a.m. as instructed, to complete papework. At 9:20, I was given a tablet to fill out my information. When I asked how long it would take because we were now past the appointment time, I was told it might be another half hour after I completed the information on the tablet. I'm abhorred I even have to write this. I wanted and came in for an ultrasound ordered by my HCP and felt shamed for declining the mammogram. I'm sorry some patients are educated about their health but this is MY CHOICE. After the kind tech was finished, she asked why I didn't want the mammogram yet I preferred to just ask for the ultrasound only at this time.
